The Help Me Build My Bike Bit By Bit Thread

hi well the threads are well and truely fuked and i cant get the non driveside crank off to put onto my new frame :( heres what ive tried so far: hammer, setting on fire then hammering and pulling. obviously none of theese worked and now im stuck, so what do i do?

help me please :unsure:

Spray shit loads of WD40 around BB and takep bit, leave for a bit to soak in and then hammer the shit out of it. It should pop of then, i sat there hamering one side of my cranks for 20mins once, so yeah it takes ages sometimes. Just gotta give it some pasty.

yes tryed the water and beat the sh*t out of crank with a hammer now i have a set of very battered cranks for my new frame thanks for help boys :)

Right, this is what I did...

Big fecking vice

Big fecking hammer

Big fecking peice of metal (thin)

Clamp the crank arm into the vice...(with bike obviously still attached)

Put a 5p where the crank arm bolt would fit (to avoid buggering the threads up in the BB)

Get your hammer and smash the queens face in on the 5p, I feel this makes me more violent and more productive. Your bike will fly off eventually (maybe with the help of a blowtorch).

Very important.

Without them chances are the forks will rock (flare your frame), knacker your forks. Also it will not tighten up correctly (It'll tighten by the steering will be very heavy).

So you're pretty screwed without them :(

i have a fewmore any way its just the little bast**ds dont want to go in, any advice on how to get them in?

FORRRRRCE. What headset have you got? Are you sure thats not 'buckled' as well? They'll go in, just put some elbow into it, lol.
