I don't honestly think he would put his life in danger like that. Plus it seemed to well filmed for a random meeting on the road.

Amazing episode though.

Bearing in mind how long it took them to actually pass each other, they had quite a bit of time to set up? There weren't any particularly well filmed shots there, just a lot of shit cut together really fast with a lot of it being in car footage. It looks like something that could quite easily happen on that road, and although they probably edited it to look more dangerous than it was, passing people on that road's gotta be properly shit.

A lot of James May's thing on the Insignia VXR was filmed within about 40 miles of here, I saw Long Hill (Meaning at one point he was less than 7 miles from my house), Winnets Pass and the Cat and Fiddle, amongst a few other pretty iconic roads.

I think I spotted the Derwent Resevoir aswell, not sure though.

Definitely Derwent, you could see the damm with the tower on it and they were in the “Three Roofs Café” in Castleton (enjoyed some good cream teas there). For the first time for years Clarkson did actually make an intelligent comment about how many people the government would employ if they wanted to remake all the road signs, a real kick in the teeth for ‘big government’. Episode wasn’t too bad although the Lexus film was a bit OTT.

Ah yeh I remember it now, I've also been in the Three Roofs Cafe a few times.

I'm pretty sure that there was a shot of him on Long Hill where I nearly crashed my bike, I was going round a left hand bend that tightens up on the exit and ran onto the wrong side of the road. :P (Banked it over as far as I could but I was just going too fast for that corner, I'd forgotten that it suddenly tightens).
