Unless you had some kind of significat injury, the police won't do f**k all. To be honest, they wouldn't do much if you lost a limb really. A few weeks back, I was walking back from the shops with my girlfriend, and some piece of shit chav came from behind and hit me round the head with a log, knocking me out. I had the biggest black eye ever, my lip was a complete mess from hitting the floor when I fell, and he just happened to hit a nerve in my neck too, which messed up my hand; it was twitching uncontrollably for a couple of days then just went completely numb, and its still not completely better. My friend reported it to the police immediately, to the Leyland police, which is the town in which it happened.

The next day the bacon took statements from me and my girlfriend. The officer that did it was from Chorley police station (I live in Chorley.) Dr. Log Assault lives in Leyland, so its Leyland police department who have to deal with it all. Chorley and Leyland police depts. are probably about 10 minutes apart. It took them a week just to get my case information from Chorley to Leyland. It then took them another MONTH to actually arrest the f**ker that attacked me, despite having been given his full name, address, and phone number the night after it happened. And even then he was out the next day, threatening my girlfriend's brother. Not once did the police phone me to inform me of what was going to happen. I always had to ring them to find out what was happening. I then found out that the shit who assaulted me was already tagged, and was in court not a week before he attacked me, for holding a knife to someones throat.

It was 5 weeks ago today that it happened. Still, I've heard nothing. No word about compensation or damages, nothing about what the guys actually been charged for, whats going to be happening to him, and why the f**k he was still out roaming the streets.

In summary, the police in this country are a joke. I'm beginning to regret ever getting them involved, and just having the shitstain sorted out through other means. Getting the police involved in anything is an absolute waste of time.

I've had similar experiences where they threw a coke bottle at me and my bike, covering most of my new hoody in sticky crappy cola gunk. Not a happy bunny at all, but there were a group of 5 of them around 14 or 15, couldnt risk them stealing my bike. However, if my bike were not there, the result would probably be me being put into a mental asylum for certain reasons

I usually try not to get involved with thezse topics..but remember, you know the risk, you know the kind of tits that linger around & what they get up to - and yes it is unfortunate when you have a run-in with these gangs..but it's is a risk you take when you gou out trying to practice a sport you enjoy..

The police won't do anything regardless - in the widnes I've seen 5 police cars circling an area the size of two football fields, in the space of five minutes...none of which were circling in the problematical areas of the town..such as the centre.

I've had numerous run-ins with the groups of bone heads that linger around, you just have to remember they're big fish in a very little pond & in two years time they'll never be remembered..unfortunately, some of the damage they do can be.

I was arrested at the age of 14 for walking around our local estate with a gang of friends - some of which decided to steal christmas tree-lights (as I was not stealing/involved, I was okay or so I thought)...but the police arrested me anyway as my presence proved I was 'aiding & abetting' - it's easy pickings for them.

I'm not going to bitch on, as there really is nothing you can do..but the police did nothing when:

I was beaten & hospitalised by a group of 10-15 18 year old boys & girls outside a local off-license, in a re-occuring trouble spot (the girls were the worst believe it or not) - the shop had cctv & the police didn't even bother to check as I can't identify any of them - mainly due to the fact that I do not recal the incident, or the night of the attack, or a few days after to be honest due to the fact that it damaged my short-term memory for a time after the attack.

Then I was threatened with a knife (which I never seen) & beaten by three 18yr olds while biking alone..

Then recently my Dad was punted off the road by a drunk/drugged driver (a woman), who then proceeded to drive away from the incident. The Dadman called the police & guess what, will they go out to find her that night to stop her dangerous driving, given that my Dad had provided them wwith her registration plate...no, they would do no such thing as they would "visit her within 7-14 days" - convenient.

My point is, don't expect anyone else to look out for you - you are your responsibility & if you decide to ride out, or alone, you know the risks...

I just made sure I had something to defend myself with...the biggest spanner I could find in my Dad's shed, when I rode..I used to strap it to my shin-pads & the spanner was as long as my shin..lol
