Joe_Kearney
Stick a helmet on; get someone to film it for laughs afterwards if you mess up; and just go for it. Have 5 pints of lager for courage too
Mr Monty
If you are lernig hooks start on a sloped wall as you are getting better move to a more vertical wall intel you feel comfitable to hook a vertical wall. thats how i learnt them good luck . Ewannnn
Well seeing as you ride a mod that will make it harder but when i was watching my mate trying to learn at the start he just tried to hit the wall as hard and fast as he can then try and pull it up, which didnt work. What he does is he pedals up to the wall (going quite fast) lifts up his front wheel then hops onto the wall with his front wheel ontop at a slight angle. Depending on what foot you are, if you are left footed you should be hitting the wall at a slight angle to the right so your pedal doesnt hit the wall. then stretch your arms out as far as you can possibly go then hope to hell you make itIm sure someone who can do them will explain for you. Will take a few weeks of practice to get the hang of though.EwanEdit: Try getting about 7-8 pallets stacked up then get an extra 1 then put it leaning against them at a slight angle if there are no decent walls, quite a good thing to practice on if you have alot of pallets Edited May 28, 2006 by Ewannnn
TomN
Aye definately try hooks on a slope walls such as pallets so you can set the angle of the pallet more to suit yourself
Ben Geary
Get doing them on sloped walls first then start getting steeper and steeper untill your doing them on vertical walls, there f**king hard thats for sure. I can't do them for shit , just keep going at them.

Smo™
When you hit the wall you want your shoulders to be at least directly over the bars. It's hard to explain - I've only been hooking for a few months myself. It's as if you're trying to do a running dive over the wall, hit hard and fast as you'd expect but lean the hell forward.
