manuel
Right well - i recently started learning to hook. and i can now do it pretty ok in that ive breached 60" but my technique is pretty pants still, and i rarely knock it up onto the back wheel.... At the moment i use the front brake a fair bit, but occasionally i find its not needed and makes the whole thing abit smoother (but this is usually on smaller stuff). So this is really a question to those who have got them down - Should i use my front brake or not ?oh and anything to help getting up to back wheel better ? Hobnobs
If you use the front brake you can sort of wheelswap to get onto the backwheel. This needs more momentum though, i think. I tend to just go pretty fast and bunnyhop into it, but its smoother when you go slow and pedal up.
