Clawz114
I recently got a new chain after my old one kept snapping and i thought id write about it seeing as we all need chains no matter what size wheel.Chain: KHE Collapse chainPrice: £15Colours: silver-silver silver-black black-blackBrought from: Tartybikes.co.ukweight: After i had cut mine down to size it was around 400 gramsI chose the black-black version on the chain purely because it looked better, the chain has a flat side to the links which can handle grinding and landing hard on the chain which could snap a standard chain. The weight was only slightly heavier than my previous chain (a standard shimano chain) but it made up for the heavier weight by good looks and an overall extremely strong chain. I would advise that you purchase a decent chain tool if you haven't already got one because this chain broke the chain tool on my topek alien RX multitool. The pin just wouldn't come out, this meant a trip to my local bike shop to use a park tools chain tool which did the job. I have been riding with the chain for nearly 2 weeks now with no problems so far. The chain can fit around 9T drivers if you need it to, but i am running a 22T up front and a 20T rear. I am using this chain with singlespeed but i wouldn't recommend this chain to be used with gears as it is thicker than my standard chain and may cause disappointment when you realize it wont fit through the mech etc.I think that £15 is a reasonable price to pay for this chain as it is alleged to be stronger than the KMC cool chain. Seeing as this chain will last you at least half a year with no problems, £15 is a small price to pay and theres nothing like that safe feeling of running a brand new chain.Overall a 9 out of 10, if you are in need of a new chain then this is definitely the one to go for. I hope this will help people out.Dan
MikeCottTrials
just so you know the reason you cant fit a fat chain on with gears isnt because of the mech its because it wont fit on the cassette, and what do you mean when you said you had it cut down? other than that nice information but didnt say anything about how it performs
Si-man
He probably just means taking links out with a chain tool.

Mark W
No. If chains develop tight spots after a bit of usage, I'd say they weren't performing well. If the rollers crack too, I'd say they weren't performing too well. If they rust really easily, I'd say they weren't performing too well. If they do all of the above, I'd say they were KHE Collapse chains
Clawz114
lol, well i've only had it for 2 weeks so i cant really give a solid opinion on the performance, but its good so far, no problems. sorry i cant be more detailed.Dan
Mark W
No probs dude I've just replaced mine which was about 6-7 months old. Almost all the rollers had cracked, and it was rusty as hell. They just seem to rust up so easily My current one was sitting in it's box in my garage, and it started to rust? Whilst still coated in that slimey lube they come in from the factory. Mental... Greetings
Probably depends on how hard you ride, I've been using mine for a year now and it's fine, maybe because I'm quite easy on the drivetrain and don't use much force on it when pedalkicking. It has tight links due to bashing it against obstacles, and is a bit rusty because I left the bike in the rain and forgot about it. Nevertheless it's much better than the KMC which fell apart in 4 weeks. In other words, you can totally destroy a chain in a few days or ride one until it just falls apart on its own.
