Post Your Computer Workstation.!

When working on a web layout that's 1680x1050, exporting sections, writing the css then checking it in the browser, 2 screens is a godsend, even if it is only 1x 1680x1050 and 1x 1440x900 :(

Still, 3 months til I get my 24" iMac (I hope) and it'll be 24" 1920x1200 and 20" 1680x1050, woop woo.

Even my current set-up with one 22" at 1650x1080 and one 17" CRT at 1152x768 (1280x1024 made the fonts too small) makes things so much easier.

ell thats just being greedy that is :P

Better to overkill than underkill, plus matching monitors look so much better than different ones.

Yea but on a big wide screen monitor... just ake bother the windows thinner... i dont see how have to massive screens is of any benifit. I can understand if your doing loads of graphics work, and have multiple images open, but for doing work and assignments just one is plenty big enough.

You're wrong, I went from a 20"+17" to 24", but I hated it so much I went to 24"+17".

Nice setup there. Where abouts did you get that desk from and is that 2 22" monitors you have squeezed in there???

The desk was from Staples I think, couple of years back though.

I wish the monitors were 22", but they are only 19". The whole PC including monitors is going up for sale at the end of the month, as I'll be picking up my 24" Mac :)

Got a spec for the PC?

Just mildly interested, wouldn't want either monitor as I'm getting another 22" to match mine.

Off the top of my head:

Intel 3Ghz processor

4Gb RAM

512mb GeForce 8600 GT dual output GFX card

Onboard sound card

230Gb Hard drive

CD/DVD writer

Built in multi-format card reader

Is the processor just single core? If it's not a dual core machine I'll leave it, I was planning on building something around a E5400 or E7200, something like that anyway.

I would imagine most recent macs would come with at least a dual core cpu. I'm assuming he's getting a recent one...

What's the deal with these speakers? Seen quite a lot of people with them, but I think they look bloody horrible.

Still - looks don't really matter... Decent sound?

Seems to me they're either gonna be typical Logitech/Creative £50/100 5.1 style cones, or really f**king amazing :P

Noice! I was thinking of going down the Q8400 route, but decided that I might aswell spend the extra £200 and get DDR3 ram and an AM3 socket processor.

I can't get it overclocked though! It keeps crashing and being ghey, I can't get the voltages right. :(

I got it to 3.8, but no further. It kept crashing, so now it's back to stock, and that was based on an overclock profile aswell, I'm going to learn to do it manually, hopefully I can get it to 4ghz. :P
