Well done. I never thought I'd say this - but in this situation you were the least retarded applicant.

f**k... Imagine the other situations where that would be true...

Hmm... Nope.

Haha, true.

FP, I strip you of your accolade. And no, I don't want to strip you of anything else before you begin your 'witty' response.

Surge protection is for nancy's :P after all if a surge does kill your pc you get a nice shiny nice one off insurance ;)

I've had it happen once, I cringe whenever I see it now. When I first started work at my current place, they powered all the servers without serge protection - pretty 'shocking'.

Haha.

Haha.

Happened to me once aswell, burnt out the PSU and the graphics card and it was never really the same, the only parts left from that build now are the sound card and one of the sticks of ram.

You got any internal pics of that 690? Been looking into getting one (the original, not nvidia like yours).

Ta muchly

Starts talking about the case at 1min 25secs.

The normal 690 doesn't have the side window, I think you can buy a side panel with a window seperately, not sure. Thats about the only major difference if I remember correctly (got send the normal one as a mistake so I had a peek insid ethe normal 690).

All you people with one monitor are CRAZY.

This is not an opinion, it is a FACT.

As soon as I can afford another matching 22" it'll be on the way, even with my miserable 17" CRT on the wrong side it makes such a difference.

Cause we are, thats why we ride trials....

Although i only need one monitor, for playing on an xbox or browsing the net, cant do both at the same time, requires to much concentration. And if im editing something 1680 x 1050 is plenty of working space thanks.

When you do anything like web designing or any design type work, or writing reports of doing asignments, it makes it so much easier to be able to have two programs open at once. (The report/assignment and the source, or the websites code and the page open in a browser).

But yeh it doesn't really make multi-tasking much easier in my experience, just makes it much easier to do single tasks which require two programs.

Yea but on a big wide screen monitor... just ake bother the windows thinner... i dont see how have to massive screens is of any benifit. I can understand if your doing loads of graphics work, and have multiple images open, but for doing work and assignments just one is plenty big enough.

I've tried doing it that way, it's just way too tight for my liking.

My monitor only runs 1680x1050 though, if I had a trueHD 22" monitor it would be much better. I'd still just rather have two at 1680x1050.

When working on a web layout that's 1680x1050, exporting sections, writing the css then checking it in the browser, 2 screens is a godsend, even if it is only 1x 1680x1050 and 1x 1440x900 :(

Still, 3 months til I get my 24" iMac (I hope) and it'll be 24" 1920x1200 and 20" 1680x1050, woop woo.
