Can someone please confirm me of this please, as i wil buy a new 26" frame soon, and it will make up my mind of which one to get...

Does the High BB Long Pitbull , ride pritty much the same as the Short GU frame?

i ask as i really would like a GU, but i have been hearing that its nasty to ride.. and my mate has got a High BB Pitbull, which is exactly the same geo(same stays, headset angle etcetc) , except the bb is 10mm lower....

would 10mm extra rise over 50mm really be that noticable?

is the GU horrible for front wheel taps?

and what one is generally stronger?

Mabe you could all vote for what frame is preferd...

thanx

why do you refer to yourself in the 3rd person?

charel is bemused by this.

charel is not the only one.

michael struggles to understand why there is such a difference between the frames eg short 1 or long other.

no one else talks about me (nicely) so i have to do it

I have a long GU and it is perfect. I woulndnt personally get the short GU as it would feel short as hell. GU and Pitbulls are about the same strength and weight but goming from what i feel about the two i would say the GU for sure.

Hope this helps.

You looked at an Echo Control? There a really nice frame? I'm sure somebody in the forsale/wanted section is selling one for £140 and there also a "NEW!" Adamant A2, which I would get if I had the money. I have an Echo Control '04 it is really nice. before that I had a Saracen mad and there loads different. The BB rise is about 15-20mm and thats good enough for me.

Just a idea for you! If you wont something with a higher BB look at the HIFI?

...Matt :)

I far more prefer stock bikes with low bb and short wheelbase, they aren't shit to ride.

Voted ZOO because it's got a lower BB and I've seen how poor quality the GU are. Theoretically the ZOO are made by the same people, but I haven't seen poor workmanship on them yet.

How are the GU's bad quality? My GU is perfect, all the welding is spot on and everything fits perfect. I dont get what you mean by that.

Get the GU (Y)

Having ridden both for quite long periods in short-term bike swaps, I'd definitely have to say I prefer the GU. Both had same Zoo bar and high Echo stem combos, so its a fair comparison. The GU was a bit easier to manual/bunnyhop (something which I strangely find difficult on my short Python), and the Pitbull seemed a bit better for gapping. But I liked the GU more still, both were long.

Had two 20" Typhoons, in the first frame (long) the welds were awful and crooked (far worse than my Python to which I compared it to) and the second one's (short) top tube was not inline with the bottom one. It was badly offset. Maybe I was out of luck though. Not that the frames rode badly or so, they were great.
