Clicking Cranks

Well, before you splash any cash then, a few Q's:

Are you using a torque wrench to do up your crank arms? Guessing no :P

Does your freewheel have ground down tabs or are they fully un-ground?

I just use an allen key to tighten it  which is probally why its gone...

and by tabs do you mean the 4 pieces of metal sticking out for the freewheel tool?

A-ha, nice :P You can get the freewheel off if the tabs aren't on it, but it'd defo mean a new freewheel. It'd probably be an alternative to having to buy a freewheel now I suppose? Just don't go all Incredible Hulk when you do the cranks up next time and it'll be dandy (Y)

sweet. I'll just have a little play with some power tools :-

cheers for your help mark (Y)

EDIT://

ha ha I took it down my lbs, and they couldn't get the freewheel off either... so I've ground the tabs down for now (all works well :D ), and I'll take a hacksaw to it at a later date.

^^ Just thought I'd post up the results, incase anybody searched.
