Mod Vs Stock.?

I think stock wins because i ride it and i wouldn't big up a mod bike if i didn't ride it :- .

Things on stock are generally bigger as well. :D

Benito Ros and CLS say "No" :P

Having said that, I did find it a shitload easier to gap and tap on stocks than on my mod, and sidehops for a time as well, so there may be some logic in there. I guess you can tap higher on a stock, but mods are good for short run-up bunnyhops, a la Benito.

6 of one, half a dozen of the other I suppose.

Ha ha mark you should see me bunnyhop :- not amazing at short run up ones but i'm alright at bunnyhopping up stuff, and across hefty gaps... inspiration a'la bucky ;)

Marks right 6 of 1 half dozen of the other. IMO it's not what kind of bikeyou ride but the rider. Ifyou have the mentality that I can go further because I am on mod you probably will. Alot of trials is your mindset.

To be honest I just ride what I feel more confident on which is a mod, that makes me ride better.

mods are silly bikes - Stocks are ridden by real men . . .. ... . .

haha no

I prefer stocks because i like that it is almost a "normal" bike and i dont feel like a fraud.

mods also are just too hoppy for me - i like to be able to roll on my bike

big wheels roll small wheels hop.

mod are genrally better for sidehops,

stocks are genrally better for taps

Pretty much agree with that. I admire the people who can do the opposite of those. I have no idea how tunni can sidehop such a tank that high.

Mod's are pretty explosive when it comes to moves too. I've found that rolling moves on a mod look a bit silly and probably aren't as smooth as a stock

But as above, there are always those who bend the rules :P:-

i LOVE! stock

but of course otheres love mod!

iolo.

i would totally agree with you there the way i see it you are open to more things on stock the bikes may be heavyer but you are open to a wide range of riding from a personaly point of veiw on mods the main move is sidehops and mainly bunnyhops where as stock you have bunnyhops, taps, gaps, spins, front wheel moves ... stuff liek that ... also i have a lot of respect for the people who match mod rider limits on a stock even whne its alot harder..

I found gapping and upping was a shitload easier on stock? Try tapping 50" on a mod then on a stock. I found one a lot easier than another. The first time I tapped Luke's Levelboss was amazing, it just felt so effortless compared to pedalling up stuff on a mod. Equally, doing gaps just felt easier 'cos the bike was longer so you could throw into it more, plus place the back end further out. Sidehops felt easier to front too, just 'cos of the length of it.

Talking about how on "stock you have bunnyhops, taps, gaps, spins, front wheel moves" - those are all done by mod riders too? Mods feel spinnier than stocks for a start, in fairness, but people do front wheel moves all the time on mods too?

yeh i can see where your comeing from i realy couldnt justify tapping 50 inch on a mod i can barely make it on my stock tanking in to the wall, i find that yeh you can do all the stuff on a mod but from my point of veiw it all seems alot harder to do like you said spins but it seems alot harder do spin because of the huge rear tyre.. meh i dont know im not makeing sense hehe.

To settle all this jiff jaff, why don't we all go on ebay and see how many stocks are for sale and how many mods are for sale, compare the two, and give the most popular one a medal and some cake.

But surely if it was popular the people wouldn't be selling them... maybe their selling mods for stocks and vica versa. Google fight is clear on which one is better :- .
