I've got a Sony Ericsson w810i and it's pretty nice. Does all that crap you mentioned and the battery lasts ages. Only problem is that it's not a flip phone, I guess. Oh, and I think it's only USB 1.1, but it does come with a cable at least.

im on the look out for a new phone as well now i think.

After cocking up my current phone by flashing it with american software....

theres not really anything out there that takes my fancy right now.

I do like Sony Ericsson's very much, the new w810i is a very nice phone but i cant really get that because a good friend (tomtom) has just got himself one.

Any ideas?

Get it anyway, if its good why not?

Would be silly to try and get another phone which is potentially worse jsut so your not seen as 'copying'

I recommend a Nokia 6630 (or a 6680 but it's not that much better). With a proper memory card and programmes, you can play MP3's, watch videos in very good resolution, with proper sound and frame rate, take good pics (1.3mp) and film movies which are of adequate quality as well (not in terms of resolution but of what you can see on it). On average, the battery lasts 4 days, if you watch lots of videos and listen to music, you will need to charge it after one day. It also has a huge display. The 6680 also has a flash for taking pics, and another camera for video calls.

Yeah i s'pose so. It just looks a bit silly if we are both out and we have our phones out. You'd get loads of people saying 'So who got that phone first' and 'Why have you two got the same phone'

im gonna look at Sony Ericssons because they are really cool i think, perhaps a K series one.

Get the W800i then or other W models...

Thats true ;) But i listened to the mp3 player on full belt for 2 hours yesterday and the batteries still on 74%

He probably didn`t charge the battery up fully on the first charge fully. So really its on 50% charge every time instead of 100%.Thats what i did anyway. To reset the battery just use up all the power and leave it on charge for the time it says in the manual for the first charge.

The battery in my phone is good, same as Danny's. Lasts about 4-5 days, and that's using it a fair amount, and for a bit of radio and games.

But mobile phone batteries can be really variable. I had 4 different Nokia 3220 (1 stolen, one lost, one broke since you asked) and they all had really different battery lives. The first one lasted at least a week on one charge, but then the last one lasted a day at best. So maybe you (Synergy) just got a bad one?

I charge my w800i every night but that's after 8 hours solid mp3 playing (with megabass (Y) ) at work plus a few phonecalls and the obligatory poo-time gaming. The phone is goood - the only thing it's failed on was playing a high-res video (640Xwhatever) bluetoothed over from a 6280. I kinda miss the touchscreen and the office apps from my p910 but I live without em.
