Ot: Car Spraying

hey there,

i have recently bought my car for when i start driving in spetember this year, and have now purchased my body kit for it aswell. now i have done alot of spray work before on my own but i was wondering if it is possible to spray a car by hand, obvoiusly not adviseable and also does anybody know how much spray shops would cost to do a standard black spray on an astra??

any help apprediated.

You could do it yourself by hand, provided you have the right equipment. Compressor and all that.

Do you need to do the body, or can you just do the new kit?

I recons you would be looking at best part of 1K to spray the car and kit (along with fitting). Assuming your only getting the outer panels sprated and a relly basic standard colour.

Also if the body is rusty the costs will go up lots due to the extra prep work that would be needed.

For body kit fitting, prep and a good spray your looking at £1500 i reckon.

In my opinion, don't bother with the body kit- it will put your insurance up massively, look chav, and scrape on speed bumps. Spend the £1500 on somthing more worth while!
