Mr. Newbi
Hey all.... first post Anyway i was wondering what other types of riding do you do (if any). I am a Downhiller, 4Xer, dirt jumper and street rider (street was the thing that got me interested in trials). So what do you do other that trials?...Also i am yet to get my own trials bike and was wondering what sort of brands are reliable, strong yet cheap. I was looking at something like an Onza T-pro, what are your views on that? I would prefer a 20 inch as all my current bikes right now are 26" (24 Pornking, Iron horse Sunday) but would still be happy with a 26" trials bike. Thanks
Alun Goch
Hey, welcome to the forum.I used to ride road, cross country and track with the Welsh Talent Team, a development team for young people with racing potential, but then I got chucked off for smoking and they've taken the bikes off me 'cos they where on loan from them.I also used to do dirt jumps in the local forest, but my bike was made up of cheap parts off other bikes, and broke in the end. I have no money so the frame (old ex-ile/ess) is just in my garage, weeping...!Really enjoyed my road and jump bikes, had a great summer last year on them. I've also noticed that I'm not so fit since then. The t-pro is a good choice for starting on, a lot of people choose it as their first bike. Great value, and easily upgradeable in the future if you want to.AlunEDIT: just noticed you joined up at 6.51 our time, thought why the hell would you be up? Then realised your from the other side of the world! Whats it like to ride there? Edited May 19, 2006 by Alun Goch
Lee Cable
The t-pro is a good choice for starting on, a lot of people choose it as their first bike. Cause if you dont like it, then your screwed....E.g. the t-raptor. T-raptor. As you already ride then it wouldnt be all that much of a step. If you want to ride mod, then as Alun suggested, get a t-poo, i mean pro. T-poo These are a decent spec for the price, and alot of people have one...bad if you want to be individual!EDIT: just noticed that it says you want to ride mod....my bad...excuse top paragraph... Greetings
Hello and welcome to the forum I rode xc in 2000-2002, then went into trials, but kept riding my xc bike. Roughly in 2003 I got into freeride and downhill, mostly doing drops and technical dh. After having a crash in 2003 and braking my bb on a big drop to flat, I stopped riding fr/dh and just stuck to trials. In 2004 I started riding street/trials on my downhill bike (just for fun), and liked it so much I slimmed the bike down to 14kgs and kept it. So, since 2001 I've been running two bikes. Now I ride trials only, either on my trials bike or the full sus.
MadManMike
G'Day mate (Sorry, someone had to )I ride street now, rather than Trials, I converted my bike a while back...With regards to what bike to buy, all the cheap ones are relatively similar and usually require a good upgrade. I'd build your own if possible, using good parts. Not that much more expensive but you get a much better all round quality.

Mr. Newbi
Thanks for all your input, i think im liking the Onza T pro. Another option is to buy my cousin's friend's Racline rhyno, it is in good nik but seems to have pretty basic components, i was thinking of buying it and just slowly upgrading it, so later on i have no stock parts left on it (including new frame) and end up with a nice rig the way i want it (instead of being a poser on a nice rig as well :$ )EDIT: just noticed you joined up at 6.51 our time, thought why the hell would you be up? Then realised your from the other side of the world! Whats it like to ride there? Yer, its got some pretty good riding... Nothing close to what i imagine Enlgand has (i am a true britt myself (born in Bedfordshire ). Lots of new riding things are starting to pop up, lots of DH/FR trails being built, more DJ spots and also trials is starting to get bigger again over here (Woooo!). Hows the riding over in the UK?.... i wasnt even old enough to walk, yet alone ride when i was in England.
Alun Goch
Cool. Well I live in a small village, so there's not much around here. The larger cities have awesome street spots, it's a bummer getting to them though!Anyway, no MSN type talk so I'll hush now!Alun
