anzo
General use = shit You will need...Tax, MOT, Lights, Numberplates, Indicators, Horn, Speedometer. And of course, insurance Which will be through the roof. Ducko
ah good stuff,i just fancy one for going around on at night and riding upo a few hills maybe seing a few mates,i just need to think about the cost before i buy one:)do tyres wear quick on the road? anzo
Not particularly if your a slow rider. The compound is REALLY soft, too fast and they tend to rip off as such. Obviously road use will reduce the tyres life a fair bit, but a nice steady speed and you should be ok
011001000110010101110010
You dont need lights. You dont need indicators. You need a road legal rear tyre.
Brisa
Surely most tyres are road legal anyway. I mean, here in NI the world round was run in Bangor with a lot of road miles done between sections and a lot of police presence.
Matt_Tupman
You need a road legal rear tyre.Current Michelin and Dunlop trials tyres are road legal lucklyIf you want a harder compound rear tyre thats still trials style go for a Pirreli MT43 they last much better on the road than the other to
011001000110010101110010
Its just that on the back of mine it says for off road use only.Interestingly, if you buy an old montesa they have the wiring and everything there to make them road legal because I read in France that they have to be road legal when riding between sections. crazy_gap girl
as most "new" trials bike now have tiny petrol tanks you will have to keep filling up every 5 mile haha think its just the same as a normal bike on the road...coming from my dad he rode old old OOOOOLD trialsbikes on the road years ago so its probly change a hel of a lot lol
manxrider
Would'nt worry about petrol... Mine lasts ages.
Onzaallen
Hi, At the scottish six day trials they run rear dunlops and they seem to be fine as someone has already said.I think that the bike will do around 15 miles to the tank (you can get long ride tanks for montsas and gasgas), but i suppose that deepens how fast you are going not that the 2-strokes go that fast, about 50 m.p.h ish. Matt_Tupman
Fuel isn't a massive deal really I can get a good 40 mile out of mine if it's all road work. What you do have to remember is that there 2 stroke so the fuel is premixed with oil so you may want to find a way to carry a small amount off oil on the bike somewhere.i get so pissed of with 10 year olds or somthing on here with f**king moto trials bike, god im so jealos my dad never baught me a mototrials bike when i was that young, god i want one so much.HAHAHA! sorry just made me laugh, you can pic up something old for £500 in the papers or on Ebay, do it it's a great laugh. sir trial a lot
Im into the motorbike trials in a fairly big way. First of all a bike NEEDS a horn and a speedo for a daytime M.O.T. For a full any time of the day use it needs those plus lights. Basically common sense. You dont have to use indicators for either and the modern tyres are made for use on roads excluding the U.S.A and Canada as far as i can remember. Another thing that isnt policed very well but might be worth looking into is helmets. Most trials helmets do not have the required tests done on them for use on the roads but like i say ive never heared of anyone getting into trouble for that. I think thats about it, ovbiously youd need to get taxed, M.O.T'd, insured and road registered and a rear number plate but like i said above its mainly common sense. If you need any more info feel free to add me to MSN:)

sir trial a lot
They all have side stands, unless the owner has taken it off ofcourse And simply carry a lock and lock the back wheel to the frame or something, apart from they would carry it away, Railings? Cycle rail locks? I dunno
