MOSH
Hi people, I have a King hub and am quite frankly P****D Off to the max !! I cannot find any decent tensioners. I have tried some Tryall Snail cams and they are S**T Slip and dont keep the tension and you can barely set it up yourself. I just dont understand how I buy a top quality hub and a good frame (Echo Team) and I cant get some proper tensioners. It makes me want to buy a whole new frame from the problems that have led on from this (pads rubbing, chain snapping) So any idea's on some PROPER tensioners that may work ? Ive also considered a half link chain but they snap far too easily. Any suggestions would be nice or even a bodge that will work. Cheers Josh.. Mr Motivator
Snail cams suck, get (or make if your up to it) some decent ones you can use a bolt to tighten the chain with.Local bike shop will sort you out, or alans/winstanleys bmx shop. Ben Cox
and then cry when you get home because they wont fit in the cnc dropoutslook on winstanleys i think, there are some micro chain tugs that looks quite cushtyBen
Hobnobs
Stop being a wimp and tighten the bolts properly. Kings have massive fat bolts, which can take some serious beef. Mine never slip, and thats with no tensioners.Or get fresh tensioners, work well according to guyeth my riding buddy. Will Arnold
snailcams mate, seriously they are the best for your setup.do both wheel bolts up enough to hold the cams in place. then tap the cams with a hammer to slowly bring the wheel back so the chain tensions corrently. then tighten the bolts up a bit more, then hit snail cams with ahammer again. then fully tighten the king bolts seriously, they rock, specially with beefy king bolts Will
JT!
I think a few people haven't realised that we're talking mods here.....arn't we.Anyway, i've never liked the look of smail cams, and the way they work, getting on ok with my chain tuggs even though i'm rounding off the bolts very quickly becuase i tighten them with the axel bolts are tight. ogre
Get the beefiest bmx tugs you can, i would suggest some primo ones(or anything for around £5/£6 each), file them down to fit if you have to. don't get onza ones! there are poo i killed a set in a month. Will Arnold
cheers, what dent?by your brake mount spoonla' thing is with a tensioner like that, id the brake might not align as well because the wheel will be closer in, but if it does then hats off. the only reason i has made one like that is so that my brake WOULD setup properly anyways, nice work batman
