Concussion
Yeah` Whats the best one for around £30 squid? My old (cheap) one died pretty fast, so I'm looking for a good pump, which is gonna last me a while!Looking for a very accurate read-out (digi or dial), and `extreme durability` of the valve clamp and locking type mechanism. For £30 I'm expecting better than the weak plastic crap my old one had!Nothing happening in the search, so what do you fine folks recommend?Cheers ears

Will Arnold
i dont like the joe blow to be honest. the machanism feels too stiff.my favourite pumps are the ones from halfords for about a tenner. nice easy locking mechanism which sits right down the valve.rocks! halfords the big one!1111oneoen
guineasmithpig
i've got Oxford's cheapest track pump. Black plastic with yellow trim, cost £12 i think, and that has been in use for nearly 6 years now! hehe. and i once bought a blackburn mini pump for about £35 and the seals packed up on it after 2 weeks (when it had never been taken out on the bike) and the shop refused to replace it! well, as said above, u can't really go wrong with Topeak if you wanna spend your £30 quid. I can recommend the Oxford ones too though as me and my cousin use the same (base model) ones and have had em about the same amount of time and they've been great!smithy
Waynio
Blackburn are good track pumps too, BUT also if you want one for the car and one for home the Innovations track pump @ £14.99!!! we sell dozens of em, all have the same generic head as the Blackburn pumps. really easy to use, and we use them in our workshop.depends if you have to spend £30??? or want to spend less. but at £30 most will have guages on and will be dual purpose. steel barrell etc etc. nice and strong Waynio..................... Concussion
Looks like the JoeBlow or Blackburn trackpumps, both seem to have a better valve attachment than my old swap the adaptor around one and they look well made.I'll take a wander to my LBS to see which one I like .....and Halfords is on the way so I'll see what their selling.Dad needs to buy me a `usefull` prezzie, so I'm spending the lot. He'd be like "£30 on a bloody disk" !Thanks for the quick and informative replys, TF:UK is so helpfull!PS: Does anybody else have a love/hate thing with presta/shrader valves? Its the `I love prestas` vs `I can't pump them up at a garage`...thing! (Prestas are the tall thin ones, I think? Cause you can `press-da` valve)Anyway, cheers. Rich Pearson
Just out of interest, has anyone else lost the seal on the Joe Blows valve mechanism? Mine went a while ago now and I've never been able to get a replacement so I just have to hold my thumb over it when pumping, but, meh, that gets a bit annoying (people wonder why I run my tyres so low....)Rich
TheMunn
I'd go with the blackburn, can't remember which model it is but one of them has lifetim warrenty where as the topeak ones you'll need to take to halfords and buy the parts from the rebuild kit they should have there. I've used both and think the topeak one is better to use and nicer but thats because the blackburn one is 3 years old now, but new ones are just as nice as the topeaks.
