A lot of people have water bled brakes that have been working flawlessly for years. For rust to occur, you must have both water and oxygen, which is present in air. As the whole idea of bleeding is to prevent air being in the system, the brake must be poorly bled for anything to rust. As well as this I'm sure maguras are made of aluminium, which, funnily enough, doesn't rust!

To prevent freezing, use antifreeze (the clue is in the title) or alchohol (don't know if anyone uses this though).

Try turning off caps lock too, and if you're feeling crazy, try using punctuation!

sorry but antifreeze with water will mess up your brakes big time and anyone who has done this is stupid

Thats pretty much everyone who has a water bleed over winter, which i'm quite sure is over half of the riders who use magura's. I personally didn't bother with antifreeze and my brake has frozen twice this winter, the only thing that happens is that the pads get pushed onto the rim. All i did was throw a rag over the lever and another over the slave cylinders and after about 10 minutes i had a normal working brake again... if thats the only downside to bleeding with water then roll on next winter... its most definately worth it.
