Deionized Water

Recommended Posts

think about it people, if you don't want air in your brakes then don't use water, unless it is de-ionised.

1. it will rot you seals

2. will rust it up good n proper

3. water is 1/3 oxygen!!!

But its a compound so that it still needs another oxygen atom to make it reactive! So if you dont have any air in your brakes then there's no harm!

I disagree, firstly like it matters if you have air in your system as long as the calipers return nicely and you have a nice feel to the brake, all is good. :)

Secondly i would pay good money to watch aliminium rust

It could oxadise slightly though, which will do jack all :)

People do say that using water rots your seals, personally i think its a load of crap :P

Tom Booth has had hs brake bled with the same water for nearlly 2 years and i have for just over a year.

Neither of us nor all the other half of the trials polulation have had any trouble with seals rotting :)

cheers
