Ra964
try making your frame with some al....just take a frame and cut-it to pieces, think of your height and hers and make the bike proportionaly equal to yors, you should find a broken frame and weld-it as you like, put on some shimano acera/alivo vees and some small leveres and there you go a small trials bike

Mark W
12" bikes , fr 2-4 year olds.Think what age 20" bikes are for. We still use them.FFS i'll buy her a new one when she grow's out. Try getting a little kid to ride an adult's BMX then Speaking from experience of working in a bike shop where they've tried to do that, it doesn't work at all. Yes, the wheels are the same size, but if you're trying to say geometry doesn't matter, you're a little wrong.Your call I guess, but I still think you'd be better off trying to sort out her current bike at the moment. Gary Fisher do some half-decent kids V-brake levers so she'll be able to at least reach them, even if she doesn't have the strength to pull them on all that hard or whatever. Getting her used to just controlling her current bike and getting her some bike handling skills would be enough for her at the age she's at now, which wouldn't require you to spend loads on a bike for her? chrishayton
your 14? so isnt it going to be a bit expensive? buying a custom frame isnt going to be cheap. and all componants for 12 inch wheels are going to be crappy and plastic, if you really set on this and have the money get her a koxx wasp or a little monty as featured above. i wouldnt bother though, dont turn into a pushy parent/brother, shes a little girl i doubt she ll really be into trials, i would try again later when shes older (like 10) and just by a standard mod ( ooh trials in a few years time, think of the frames mmmm.) Dan6061
She'll get bored of it within a day, and you'll realise you've wasted your time and money. Sounds harsh, but it's probably true. Wait a few years.
guineasmithpig
i'm waitin for 12in wheel scrapper to come through the shop i work at. got one from halfords when i worked there and we had MASSIVE fun on it! we built a miniramp in my mates back garden that summer and was riding it on that. because they are so small its actually easier to hop on the front wheel than the rear! ultimate trick was tryin to manual the thing without smashing ur ass to bits!anyways, i do appreciate what your tryin to do and ain't gonna kick up a fuss like others have. though i do agree that maybe startin her on a normal kids bike teachin her to ride without stabilisers and then along small balance beams might be a good start. after all, most of us started on regular bikes before moving to something more specialised! well, at least all the oldies like me!neways, keep us posted on your progress however it goes! and defo get a helmet on her too! best startin em young!smithy
Gavyn.
what will you do for gearing surly a standard kids bike won't have a decent gear for trials. also won't it weigh quite alot for some one of that age it would be like us trying to do trials on a standard hell frauds bike with no seat on why not buy a mini monty and put a small stem on it then she might actually be able to do something. won't the headset be cocked up on a mini iolo aren't most kids bikes the ones which use a cartridge headset. Josh Greenan!!!!!!!!!!
It should be cool. But i think she will get bored with it, good luck anyway.
Nuke Bowel
Sounds like a good plan. Shame i haven't got a younger sister/brother But I do agree with what others are saying, if I was you I would get her riding a normal kids bike, teach her the basics of riding then buy her a trials bike in the a year or two, it all depends on how she enjoys it etc, you may find she will get interested really quick and you will know to buy her a trials bike.Cheers Luke
