well if he has got a avid bb7 then hes got no worries as that brake is amazing, as for the rear maggies are good but then you have all these choices of pads and then if you want a grind or not, why not just get a decent v brake for the rear i.e. a avid 7 or arch rival with some coust v pads and if you know how to set up a v then it may be a better brake than a magura

in fairness they are not exactly as good as a Hydraulic disc are they other wise they would be more popular...

so yeah

Cant agree with you on that one sorry, I run a Hope Mono trial allthough I wish I had saved my money in buying a bb7 and having a more powerfull brake at the end of the day.

Also a mechanical will cost you alot less time and money. No bleeding etc, just need to change the pads every now and then (Y)

I would go for the hs33's with evo mounts because I all ways find with cables you don't know when the cable is going to snap maybe on a 10 ft drop on the back wheel maybe pulling an endo but whatever happens when it snaps you will get hurt

In all the years i've been biking i have only snapped one brake cable ever, so that isn't realy true, and on maggys you could kill the crossover bit which would be just as bad if not worse (new crossover if your unlucky and a bleed)
