Mark W
Well, the wait's pretty much over - the first batch of Tensile freewheels are going to be in the country tomorrow (09/05/06), at Supercycles, with distribution to other suppliers to follow (presumably...). All 18t, front-freewheel specific.Details on www.supercycles.co.uk, incl. prices and more info about the product itself.A few people were wanting to know when they were going to be around and I thought this'd probably be the best way of letting people know.Mark

adamtrials
what makes it front specific..?-- why wont it go on a hub ??thanks iolo. The threads are the opposite way round i think?
TomN
The threads are the opposite way round i think?Yeah so the lock ring won't come undone, they are gear do the same thing for rear Tensiles. But how much will the Try All be?
PaRtZ
But how much will the Try All be?Wait until the "try-all freewheel" thread or maybe it'll be €75 Looks mint, im afraid I bum my profile too much for this but looks damn good. A mid range priced freewheel has been needed for a while and its great that onza has it out
BikeDotStuffAtOnzaDotCom
what makes it front specific..?-- why wont it go on a hub ??It'll go. The reason that it's front specific is the lockring has a right hand thread. If you need an example think of how the ACS Claws freewheel has a left hand lockring thread and frequently unscrews when used on the front. They never have that problem when used at the back, which is where they were designed to be used. But as Alex said, is this going to become the standard part on all onza bikes?
craigjames
if you look at the picture on the supercycles site, it looks like on the box its got a tick box for a rear specific one too..... mebs they'll be one to follow shortly?
MaXsteri
How many engagements on the Tensile, the new TRY ALL freewheel, available in about two weeks will have 108. Projected price 75 euro, lock ring faces out, so held in place by crank arm/rock ring.Way to slip your product into a competitors news release Although the question is valid, how many engagements will the Tensile have?
Mark W
60 engagement points; 2 sets of 3 pawls (same pawl arrangement as an Eno).

MaXsteri
That'll be what they mean by 60 click then Looks like its going to be awesome value, tempted
mat hudson
I've never understood this properly so im not prepared to argue.... but if i understand correctly, if you wanted to run the tensile on the back, you would have similar problems to run an acs on the front? you know on ff bikes the lockring comes undone?? well, by making the thread opposite it tightens instead.now, on the rear the forces are reversed, so a freewheel that tightens the lockring on the back will come undone on the front and so on and so forth.
