CBProductions
All amps should be on if they are connected to a power source , i.e a car battery , a generator, unless there is a switch on it then the remote thing you are talking about shouldnt effect anything except allowing you to turn it on an off using a remote control if thats what your on about ? A large picture and description on the amp would be cool
haydon_peter
You would need to run the remote cable from the back of the headunit to the amp. When the headunit is turned onto radio/cd etc... power is sent down the remote cable which tells the amp it needs to turn on, while the headunit is just in standby but not playing any music the amp will be switched off.Without the power from the remote cable its unlikely the amp will power up... Danny
And even if you 'bodged' it like you say then you would be left with a flat battery.
sexymike
And even if you 'bodged' it like you say then you would be left with a flat battery.well we just bridged the 12 v and the remote on't Kangoo (tic saw it ) but the battery Didnt run flat over night due to the fact all the battery was powering was an on light, and nothing else. if the headunit isnt feeding the Amp any imput, it has nothing to output. Danny
Fair enough i would have through it woulda used more power.Anyway i dont see the point in not running one anyway you mite as well do the job properly while your there afterall. When i fitted a sub to a mates car the RCA leads had an extra wire built into them for the remote wire. Therefore you had the wire at the headunit and amp end so it was easy to wire in.
