TrashZen
Well I just thought, reading another thread about a thorn ligament, who else is currently taking a forced break from the bike? (I am because of a sprung ankle ) What are you doing in the meantime to alleviate your exasperation/frustration/rage/boredom (tick what applies )I am doing more web-related stuff, cooking nice meals for the miss, sorting out the mess in my place etc... fine tuning the bike for my first ride after recovery ... MrSuave
I am currently in my 3rd week off the bike with torn shoulder ligaments and am frustrated beyonf belief at not being able to ride, however it has allowed me to set-up a valeting company as a sideline to my existing job so its not all bad! Apart from that i have been in the battle cruiser rather alot, chasing ladyfolk and dancing like a parkinsons victim on LSD............also found a strange loving for pizza hut and ginger beer but bottom line is, being injured is toshwank. Havnt ridden properly since last july and i've had to quit trials all togetherOuch you never know when it is the right time to stop. I hope all of you guys get better. So far on average, trials has done more good than harm to me, but then, I sometimes ask myself, what will be the next bad crash? and should I learn from these???It's only after a recent injury that I get to think again seriously. Waynio
iv been out alot:Xmas i did my ankle and ligaments in when i jumped off a 10ft sign (a bit drunk)Feb i dislocated my finger in barcelona was a good shape. shame they straightened itApril i fell off at the downhill/trials event in wales and torn my ligament in my collar bone/shoulder joint, have recovered well through all injuries shoulder still gves me grief but i got some advise off a new member called "Wes" and i am in the process of being fully repaired.injuries wont keep me off the bike for too long, the only injuries i have struggled to get back from really was my dislocated finger and shoulder, but luckily, after seeing what happened when i lost all strangth in my finger and how long it took to get back into it, i prepared myself better for the shoulder, and its worked wonders. really pleased with my progress, i would say im only @ 50/60% recovery and fit, but god i feel as if i am fully healed.one thing i would totally advise ANYONE to do, with injuries that dont "just go away" is go see your local sports physio. weather it costs you £30 or £40 for half hour or what ever, do it, you will not regret it and you will feel better and get amazing advice.NOTE: i am NOT a physio myself. i just have a very good one, who looks after me and works wonders. anyone in the Leeds/Bradford west yorkshire area, Richard Kunz is THE man to see 01274 561225 he has a couple of different lads there too. but if you ever need to ring/speak/advice ring him and he will look after you.Waynio............................... But frustration is there . So do you ride softly in the mean time or just exercice or what?I saw some pics on trialnoir, about your days in Barcelona, looks like you had found the good spots
Rich Pearson
Just dislocated my shoulder in my sleep the other day (how pissing off does stuff want to get...) so I've got a week or so off the bike. I've been doing coursework and drinking myself to oblivion for the last few days and intend to carry on the same way.Rich

Waynio
i do get back on and just go for it. im not really fussy, if the injury IS that bad that it totally puts me out then i will stay off it, but i have done enough waiting around and stuff. so i enjoy having a weeks rest then getting back on, as long as i feel "right" or "ok"you and your body knows when is right, when you do moves if it hurts its time to stop. and thats pretty much what i have done, it was hurting bank holiday monday up on shipley glen so i stopped riding and watched the others. tuesday was fine then i rode yesterday and it felt great.Ye barcelona was amazing!!!! im going to go back JUST to film one gap that we looked at on the sea defence wall it was soooooooooooo nice. we was going to go back to it at the end of the trip cos it could possibly have broken the rim, but half way through i dislocated my finger Waynio............................. Next time you go, let me know, I am sure some of the locals would like to join some of your riding sessions. The risk when riding before complete recovery, is that if you crash, you can make it worse and anihilate the time spent not riding to recover. So even, when feeling nearly ok, I'd rather wait a few extra days than ride to soon.
Waynio
yes i totally agree with the recovery thing.im STUPID!!! kids do NOT do what i do. i get better quicker and ride at lower fitness levels as it is a risk i have chosen to take. for others it would be more advisable if you recover fully or to at least 80% than risking serious injuries.Waynio..................
