hes no where near as good as that guy on e4 late night called 'mind freak' that guy has done some absalutely f**kING mental shit.. where he could actually die! He was tied up and handcuffed inside a big beer barrel filled with water, his hands were like in two holes in the top of the barrel then cuffed etc. He was then hoisted up to 60ft above the ground and given 1 minute to get out. He got out just as the barrel was falling and jumped to grab the safety rope. MY GOD! i shat myself i thought he was a gonner.

Thats the art of it though isn't it? The art isn't in doing the escape, it's in making the audience think you actually found the escape hard. If he got out of it in 20 seconds of the minute time limit would you be impressed? They have to purposely make it look really close and stuff.

They showed how he did the levitation trick. It's not really anything special...

It's the same with all magic trickes though really, when you see behind them none of them are that special at all, the skills in making it realistic, the patter etc.

it's not "magic" but it is very very impressive

can you imagine the will and mind power it would take someone to stay confined underwater for 2 hours? let alone 7 days?! and to stand ontop of that pillar for however long he did

that's pushing human boundaries of concentration and willingness in the brain

f**kin' good when you think about it

I think he is ok, and a nutter. Fair play to him getting LOADS of money for it. I wonder how wrinkley his skin is going to be? I bet he learnt not to do in london as he got soo much shit.

David blaine is well badass, although he probably just gets a poorly paid mexican stunt double to do all the boring stuff for him, like wait in a box or stand on a pillar.

By the time he's finished messing around in that water sphere thing, he will look like that govener/mayor bloke off x men when he comes out of the sea.

I'm impressed, plus he will save on water bills because he wont need to bath for like a year afterwards. He'll be freakishly clean.

After seven days he will attempt to break the world record for holding breath under water, which currently stands at eight minutes, 58 seconds.

The guy is an illusionist - some say a good one. But remember that's all he is.

David Copperfield never really made a jet pass through the Great Wall of China, nor did he fly over his audience. I very much doubt that David Blaine's "amazing feats" are much more than elaborate tricks. (Before people start saying, "how can he fake being in a glass bowl?" I don't know - I'm not an illusionist. But he is. Keep that in mind).

Only a few people in the world can hold their breathe that long.

I very much doubt he could.

Hope he dies

Go f**k yourself.

As for Blaine, the dude's got some serious will power. He's done some amazing things. Even if the shit he does is a hoax, who gives a f**k? He's making money, which it's all about. He's just come up with new ways to get rich and be remembered in the process. Hell, 99.5% of us lot won't do anything great in our lifetime, so whoever says 'I hope he dies' can get bent, you're just a waste of life as the rest of us.

I'm glad he's at least had the sense to keep this stuff in America. The whole glass box above the Thames was just silly. I mean, did the guy expect us to applaud or something? Christ......

But this stuff does look pretty damn cool with the whole underwater thing. Anyone who's had a serious hangover knows what its like to be 40-days type hungry, but this is something most people will hardly ever experience.

But I very much doubt he's gonna make a world record for holding his breath. As soon as he can't hold it anymore he'll probably just break for the surface and then who knows the kind of shit the pressure change is gonna do to his lungs.
