What would everyone here say the best v brake set up is? I need a new v brake for the rear, and i want it to lock the wheel easily.

I was thinking something like

XTR lever

Nokon cable

Avid arch rival

Any other ideas?

Oh and also, if anyone has an xtr lever or brake for sale pm me, i have bought stuff off people on here before but im not a proper member yet for some reason...

can you stretch for a maggy?

wheres the stretch? a v thats on par with a magura(with same pads and stuff) is about the same price

And a decent v brake is damn expensive..avid ultimate. They are the most sexual brakes in the world...

not really, ultimates are only 50quid now, and they are the best v brake you can get, not that much more money for a superior brake really :)

How come they're so much cheaper then they used to be? Ages ago I heard that they stopped making them in the USA and were going to make them in the east somewhere, and if that was actually true maybe that's the reason why they're now 40quid cheaper.

Not moaning or nothing, but it says v brake. He obviously prefers v brakebecause there better, And a decent v brake is damn expensive..avid ultimate. They are the most sexual brakes in the world...

A v brake is not better and neither is magura ... you can set them up the same and they will give them same performance. I ran Ultimate calipers, XTR lever, linear slic cable, heatsink pads and i prererd a magura by far ... but thats me.

Thet both give the same performance if set up propperly.

XTR lever, nokon or clarkes cable, XTR calipers, XTR booster (very hard to find), and I'd probably say echo pads (basically the same as Plaz Spanish Fly but a bit cheaper). A not too harsh grind is pretty helpful aswell. Not cheap, but if you want the best......
