Simon
Right, its up.First off, its not fully finished, i need to work on bits here and there, and make a new file listing (think firefoxflicks.com). Also need to make it so you can enlarge the files, it displays at what time the screenshot is from, and updates the videos actual length.Anywhom, reason for this is for comments on this little addon. Such as, more screenshots? Less? None at all? Bigger? Smaller?Thanking you.
Trebor
I think one or two screen shots would be best - if any It just adds more work for you to do with all of the videos? Or can those uploading the files do it themselves?

Trebor
Sneeeeeeeeaky How does it select the screen shots? Either way, it's not totally necessary, there isn't any problems with Trials-Shack as it is - so why try to change it?
Simon
Sneeeeeeeeaky How does it select the screen shots? Either way, it's not totally necessary, there isn't any problems with Trials-Shack as it is - so why try to change it?Make it better? Obviously you've not seen the brief. Theres still another 3 or 4 months of work to go into Trials-Shack before its complete.5 screenshots will be taken throughout the duration of the video. Its not every division by 5, for example, if a video is 50 seconds long, there isn't a screenshot at 0seconds, 10, 20, and so on, it's worked out to do it between the 0 and 10, between 11 and 20 and so on.If its getting a screenshot of the first segment, 0 to 10 for example, it will take the screenshot after the first 20% and 10, in this case, between second 2 and 10. MaXsteri
I like it too. Looks good, easy to navigate, fast downloads and the thumbnail feature is unique and useful. Big thumbs up
adamtrials
Very nice. When I saw the samples I was a bit unsure, but they do actually give a reasonable idea of what the vid is about.Good work

CBProductions
I have mucho respectus for you web design guys I've tried bits when I was in school but never got head into it. Too much coding for my liking I guess. Nice features to trials-shack Simon , I feel that it gives the downloader a headsup as such. keep up the good work
tomturd
Looks good. Wouldnt know where to start on doing that. Give us a clue, did you have to install the divx codecs on the server and stuff?Looking forward to testing the web uploader too. Any news on that? Simon
Looks good. Wouldnt know where to start on doing that. Give us a clue, did you have to install the divx codecs on the server and stuff? Basically, you install a video player for linux, play the video, and catch what data it returns for information on video, then just tell it to take a screenshot at the frame you want it to.Its actually a super easy concept, and is really easy to impliment. They also provide a comprehensive codec pack, and as far as i can tell, the only format it doesn't support is .divx.Looking forward to testing the web uploader too. Any news on that? Not sure yet. I know exactly what uploader i'll be using and modifying, so i can hopefully get a status bar going, just need to look at some other stuff like ways to check the actual real file type, rather then just using the extension, stop people renaming files so they can share mp3's and such like.Might do video management first though, so you can password videos, lock them, etc etc.
Simon
I've fixed the problem with a lot of videos having 404 for 1, or all 5 of their images, and i'm looking at web uploading over the weekend. Shooting myself in the foot really, as i'm not sticking to the timeline of features i set out for myself, but oh well, web uploading is more fun. Smoâ„¢
Nice feature mate, it's looking really good. Although there's a rather obvious typo - (GOT) instead of (HOT).

Not sure if you are trying to be funny or not () but that means GOT, as in, you have downloaded this video. Maybe i should put up a key. Was going to when people could lock and password files, but might have to do that now.
Smoâ„¢
No I was being serious actually, it's not exactly obvious. Perhaps you should use (Downloaded) or something instead.
Siders77
No I was being serious actually, it's not exactly obvious. Perhaps you should use (Downloaded) or something instead. I found it pretty obvious to be honest. Cool little feature now I look at them to see if I think I'll like the video so it's pretty damn useful. Nice one. I thought it was a mis-spelling.
adamtrials
Whats with the coloumn showing which videos have screenshots?Surely if its automatic they will all have screenshots?
Simon
Whats with the coloumn showing which videos have screenshots?Surely if its automatic they will all have screenshots? Some formats don't support it. Like .divx, and of course .zip and .rar.And i'm also future proofing it. For instance, the (GOT) thing Smo talked about, will be moving to that column, as a picture, along with the rest of the video keys (passworded, locked, suspended, hourly limit, etc), and some other images that will be used when i add various different features, like the archive.Well, in honesty, i didn't make a script to add screenshots to all videos that are currently there, so some videos still may not have screenshots for it, and well, i wanted it to look pimp and shit. Oh, quickly, i fixed the "sort by downloads" option.
MaXsteri
Just out of curiosity, why do you want to give people the option the password files? Doesn't that just encourage abuse? With people using it to host porn and other files that are nothing to do with trials videos

If it does, i'll just suspend the video and ban the user.
wally
I think its a great idea, now i can look at the sceenshots and see if i have seen the video before, or whether it is even worth downloading.Good job
