1337 Trials
Yo. I am going to grind my rim and I can't take the 2.5 inch tyre off, ive tryed it by pushing the tyre down and grinding but that sucks. On my practice rim I didn't have tyre on and its perfect.Anyone got any tips on how to take a 2.5 inch tyre??? ~Matt
anzo
Tyre levers...or Screwdrivers if your skint.Fairly liquid (best lube in the world)They need a lot of force, so be careful with the leverage on your rim. I very much doubt you'll fold it, but you never know. It takes a bit of time, but you'll get there after much swearing and after throwing about 20 tantrums. Synergy
or what you could do is let all the air out (hope you have already) and if its a hand held grinder just place the wheel on something off the ground and stand on the tyre forcing it down, so it doesnt get caught on the disk.sorry if its not a hand held one. 1337 Trials
Its hand held But I did that before and the grind was wank because I was grinding at 90 degrees than my practise rim ( the practice one was perfect )
Tango
What I use is very long screwdrivers. But be careful not to pinch the inner tube though thats happened to me a couple of times :$ It will be very hard for the first few centimeters of the tire but after that it will come off easy. Concussion
Hey Matt-y, if still having trouble here's my 5p.Let all the air out, lay wheel on floor and try and pinch the tyre and tube so it sits in the middle of the rim, work your way around the wheel holding the tyre in place with your trainers/shoes. Once all/most of the tyre in sitting in the middle, you should have enough slack to remove it just with your fingers, honest! Its not super easy, thought it would never work myself untill I gave it a try! screwdriver + spoons = nasty!
