the only way i know how to change the colour is to right click on the icon, properties, advanced, and compress....it makes the text blue and hardly compresses the file....but obviously some icons it won't work with. It works with media and folers i know that much

Right click my computer

properties

Advanced

Under performance, click settings

Uncheck 'show shadows under desktop icons'

Ok, Ok Ok back to the desktop

Right click the desktop.

Properties

Appearence tab.

Advanced.

Choose desktop.

Make it white.

Windows will see this and automatically change the desktop icon text to black. However puts ugly boxes around desktop icon's.

You can change the setting somewhere. Right click on the desktop and properties, it's in there somewhere, I think on the Appearance tab. You can change the colours for most things. But I don't have a PC to check that on.
