There are over 3000 people in the "Pre Members" category.

How much do you think I want to e-mail 3000 people, the majority having to be told "Put more effort into your posts: use punctuation, capitals, decent grammar, etc."?

This is my idea, and no one really said a bad word about it really. And atached are the icons i made for it.

[attachmentid=4108]

[attachmentid=4109]

I sent them to tom who said he'd try them out like he said on the thred. And nothing happend, so i sent him a PM to cheak he got them all ok, and i didn't get a reply. :ermm: So now i doubt either messages got through. :rolleyes:

Oh, and i still think the thing that tell's you when it's a memebers birthday on the main page should be activated.

i give loads of good infomation and tips in posts :blink:

im confuzzled

i've been here for over a month and i haven't been validated and i'm baffled on what i've done wrong to not get validated :S

i'm confused.

All i did there was copy and pasted what you said, then ran it through the spell checker, before you post, use that (Y)

Basically just don't ever talk crap, make sure your posts have a purpose, and spelling and grammar is up to scratch.

You'll be a member in no time.

I should probably point out when I'm scouting through NMC, if I see a spelling mistake I don't instantly go "NO" or whatever. It's largely a matter of time, as in having enough hours in the day to work, ride, eat, sleep, drink, talk to people, sort shit out, look on TF, then go through NMC posts to check out who needs to be validated. There is another thread on the forum suggesting people to be validated though, so don't worry too much about my hectic lifestyle hampering your chances of validation...

EDIT: JT - if I'm totally honest, those icons look a bit wank. They're not particularly easy to read, and if they just had the same colour background as the forum they'd look a shitload better. They just have to have "FS", "WTD", or whatever in them. I know why you've done them in different colours and I get that, but it jsut doesn't look great...

If they all had, say a light blue background, then they wouldn't stand out from each other. They don't really need to be readable, as it's the colour that matters so it's easy to tell each topic apart.

I'm learning how to use photoshop better now so i could alter them, but don't know what i could do to them to make them standout from each other, and at the same time blend in with the rest of the forum. :closedeyes:

Hey

I have been looking on this forum for quite a while and have decided to start contributing,

I think that it would be good if you have a user page where the user could enter html code like a mini

site with the forum frame around it. On some other forums I visit this system works well as a way to

present photos in a nice way and for the user to say more about themselves etc.

Cheers :)

I think thats a good idea but it comes with the possibility of the forum being clogged up with thousands of new unnecessary pages, when we can simply write in our user profile about our interests etc... I think that feature does it's job. (Y):)

If it was only open to validated members it would not be too clogged, I would guess there are a few hundred validated members? And its only a html file probably a few kb's in size, much less than the size of a picture.

Obiously its just a suggestion, it does seem to work well on other forums.

Anyone got any links to where this is being done on other forums?

Not all those members are active, think its like 500 ish active members.

500 x 5 kb = 2.5mb, not a lot and not all members would make a page.

Btw new members look at "Cannondale Ashton Rider" above, 14 hours and 12 posts... :shifty:

Good, but it could have been down to luck that a mod spotted that he posted something helpful.
