monty_04
Hey, I was just wondering on how you have done whilst learning trials? and what have you been most impressed about when out riding? My review from when I have been learning trials…I first started trials in august time I started on a second hand t-pro I got this because my friend who got me into trials advised me to get it and said it was a good starter bike. In them days I literally didn’t have a clue how to do anything involving trials and I was extremely new to the sport. I was riding round with my mates for a few weeks watching them and trying to pick up on techniques. for the next months I found trials really boring because all I was learning was how to hop (not using cranks! ) and how to ride up to objects and put my front wheel on them and sort of just chuck myself up any way I could.Meanwhile when I was learning this my friend was getting really good and I started downloading top class videos from the forum these both inspired me to carry on with trials. So I started going out during the week (school nights), which was completely new to me as I’ve only ever gone out on my bike on the weekends. I started to play on the curbs outside my house learning how to sidehop up it, wheel swap it and also drop of it I know this is very lame but I had to start off small it was then round about Christmas time and I was really liking trials so I upgraded lots of parts on my bike and spent all my Christmas money on it!!! (I know,Dedication or what!) I got a new monty frame, front wheel and front brake I started getting much better on this because I felt like it was shorter and I had a lot more control. I was bash plating objects and even back wheeling little objects I’ve been getting higher and higher since I learnt these techniques and im now starting to peddle hop about time to! how have yous lot got on? liam-pantera
This post is rather interesting as different people learnt different ways I started off by my mum and dad buying me a white base t 20 wich i learnt basic hoping on and i learnt how to do the very dangerous weelie drop. Then i was bought a red base t19 fd wich i learnt how to project on and started doing drops.Eventually it died and i got a onza t pro and learnt allot on it and entered my first comp on it last year in early july .then i upgraded to a onza tmag and learnt even more and entered 2 more comps. and now i've got really good and i've got a zoo python 06 and i'm entering most upcoming comps.well thats all my trials life summed up in 6 lines how sad lol hope this helps anyone . will17will17
hey i started in august 2005 pretty much like you i went down to mates who did trials and i was messing around on the bike and being 6ft 4" they told me i could throw a bike around so i tried and it was like magic lol, so any ways i brought a bike for my birthday in august (t-mag 05) was'nt amazing choice but when christmas came i ordered a rear cassete hub (profile) and it makes a difference any way back to what i learned at first i didnt want to bash because the bike was new but now its gunna get scrathed what ever so does it matter lol so any way since then i have been dropping off things not huge about 3-4ft and now im learning to gap i cna pause or pedal hop easily but any way backwheeling objects is quite hard but i am sure i will get there some day (www.willowen.piczo.com) (site isnt amazing)now id like to say i was quite good i pick things up fast when i learn them but its more the height of things when i drop them i tinhk off all the bad things then just do it lol Edited April 23, 2006 by will17will17
