Just Found A Crack In My Frame

Hi guys, very p*ssed off at the moment as I've just found a crack in my frame and have absolutley no money and owe alot...

Anyway I'm wondering if theres any relatively cheap way of welding/fixing it. It's an onza T-pro and its cracked on the downtube just after the weld where it meets the toptube by the headtube.

Don't really know why it's done it as I've not been going big on it :(

Thanks.

cheaply I have no idea what to do. Someone suggests drilling holes at the ends of the cracks to stop it spreading but I can't even advise there

Sorry mate :(

Drilling holes at the end of a crack will stop it spreading, But generally the consensus is to get it welded up with a night gusset on it :)

Yeah i'm in your posistion at the minute, i've also just found a fat crack in my Base TA26 aswell.

I'm acctualy happy it's cracked as i was planning on getting a new frame but just cloudent be arsed .... well now i'm gonna have to get a new one :)

If you get it welded it'll probally just crack again, i wouldent bother getting it welded save the money to put torwards a new frame.

Problem is though, I'm too young to work anywhere, have tried washing cars etc. but everyone is a right tight-arse where I live, have nothing to sell except my bighit which I've spent all my money on and love and it's not worth that much anyway...

And my parents are having financial problems at the moment so that rules them out...

get it welded by someone who knows what they're doing and be gentle with it. i'm riding a cracked monty atm, its got two fat cracks in it but i'm still riding it because the cracks aren't getting any bigger so why not!

ride it and see if the crack gets bigger, if it does weld it, if it doesn't just be nice to her and she should stand up to a bit of riding...

drill the crack ends stop the crack spreading make sure you deburr the sides too make sure its all smoothy woothy!

then if you can find a glue called 'bison' it is a 2 part glue that your can mix up and is stupidly strong, if you mix this some metal chips it works really strong, wack that over the crack and hopefully itll last a wee bit longer. (Y)

If you're trying to make a 'career for life' out of your frame company, you might want to stop being a stupid twat towards the people who are buying your frames?

Anyways, my T-Pro's cracks didn't get bigger for quite a while, so stay on it if you can't afford to get it welded or whatever. Drilling a small hole at each end of the crack will stop the crack for now, but if there's a fracture it's still a bit raped, obviously.

Just keep with it (Y)

If your too young to work, how you managed to buy a big hit is beyond me.
