They Say That Music Helps You Concentrate....

I used to listen to music when riding, mostly rock n metal etc. Now i tend to just listen to it when im on my to a ride instead of when i'm riding. Also, it makes you look a bit ignorant if your riding with others and your just listning to your ipod instead of talking to them...It's ok when your on your own though. (Y)

I find metal makes you go for more stuff as it makes you more aggressive when riding. Thats what i use when i go riding.

Also some people use dance music because it has a strong beat to it and you can move to the beat.

And i don't think you look arrogant if you only have one headphone in.

I tried to listen to music, but the headphones kept falling out...until I got my phone (W800i, with the plug in headphones) they stuck in good when riding, but I had them for a week and left them in the f**king pub.

But I listen to anything, put my Ipod on party shuffle and listen to anything, as long as it drains out the 'oil your brakes' or 'I'm calling the police' comments from annoying b*****d pensioners.

It really varies... about 2 years ago I loved to listen to music when riding but couldn't because I didn't have an MP3 player (just a cd player which for trials was useless). A year ago I got myself an MP3 player and realized that music doesn't make things easier. When I ride I need to concentrate on the bike and for this I need peace and quiet. Also I like doing things as quietly and smoothly as possible which is difficult when there's noise being fed into your ears. But yes, if I do ride with music, its mainly house or chillout yet it doesn't help me concentrate. It helps if riding alone.

I listen to dance, as it helps me to chill out and move more fluidly. I onyl listen to music when i ride on my own. But when im riding with others, i enjoy listening to the general banter between people and sometimes that can make me move more fluidly than music!
