planet x alan
haha your in for it right..........i got a d/e for mine but it's better than a fail.i did treasure island but still...start off with an intro saying i am gonna blah about blah... and then next paragraph do a brief overview of the scene, then next paragraph, suggest one reason why act whatever seems nasty and then back your statement up with quotes and then suggest why this reason might not be valid.do that for a couple of paragraphs then finish with your conclusion...'i think act 3 seems nasty because this happened this happened this happened. to make this evident to the reader shakespeare uses devices.............good luck man
Michael Hardman
Google has the answers.Look at language used for god sake, highlight words that have an ill sentiment to there meanings, ones that when pronoumced sound harsh.Look at the stage settings, will normally be dark, badly lite, evil people in shadows, good in the light. Its so easy you can bloody wing it, just find a few quotes and use them.I got a B in lit and didnt read any of the set texts. ManxTrialSpaz
Remember you're answering the question, not listing everything about the scene. "How does shakespeare make act 3 scene 7 seem nasty and unpleasant'' It's all to do with the words and phrases he uses. Best thing to do is to the intro, as said before then PEE (point, Example and Explain). I.e. SHakespeare makes the scene seem evil and unholy. (Then quote) "**Something to do with the devil etc**" Then explain, analysing the key words. Just do that for everything
tank_rider
God love pointless english coursework Anyhoo, the main thing is that these things are always opinion. So long as you put forward some well thought out statements and back it up with some clear reasoning then you should be fine. Half the time it depends on the teacher though, theres the ones that think theirs is the only right view (bad) and those who can consider all views (good). It makes me want to write a book, have someone analyse it, then tell them they are wrong and all i was doing was writing a story!! and to sod off and do something useful with their life.
