Ive had this problema few months back and sorted it ace.1 take the piston seal thingy out of the leverbeing carefull not to damage it. i usallypush a spoke through the lever fromt where the hose goes to do this.2 give the pisston and its seals a proper proper clean. use loads of hz 21 or wd 40 make sure all the inside of the levers barrel is proper dirt free too. 3 get sum plumber tape. (white thin plasticy stuff) rap it mega mega neatly and tightly around the the pistons seal rubber oh rings. Make sure you donjt put to much on cos it wont slide up aqnd downt the levers barrel. 4 cover the piston and inside of lever with a slight layer of liteeum grease and gently push it back into the lever not forgetting to putthe spring in too 5 fill the lever up with water, 2 stroke oil and dog piss and for a little extra power with your new fixed brake. Tony Harrison Posted April 25, 2006 Report Share Posted April 25, 2006 OR. Overhaul the lever, taking clear to carefully clean the inside of the master cylinder and the piston. Then add a smear of reasonably thick grease to the piston - something like Castrol LM grease. Rebuild the lever and bleed with oil, and it should be fine.
