Mr Motivator
I went out a couple of hours ago for 30 mins down my park. This is the first time that I've been out in a looong while. In the past 6 months I've been out on my bike twice. Crap.Well, I can control my bike still, just as well as I could 6 months ago, and all small little techie moves are great, I can do them fine, but anything bigger has totaly gone to pot.I started trials back in 2003, and before I recently stopped for the winter and other comitments my riding wasn't bad. I could manage a 7 and a half foot static gap, up about 3ft, roll about 9 ft etc. Never was much good at getting up stuff anyway. However, now, I can't even manage to backwheel a 2 foot funbox!!! I tried for about 15 mins! WTF!My gapping is coming back, but everything else isn't! What the hell! I never thought that this would happen!I suppose I just have to spend this summer getting back to where I was. As I say, I still have good balance and control, but I just can't do anything big.I can't up to front wheel propperly either I've just lost the confidence to do it, I used to be able to manage abot 3 and a half foot.I could never side hop propperly so peh.So, help me to gain some more backwheeling skills quick! Actually you don't really need to, all I need to do is go out an practice and that's all your going to tell me. So this is silly. What a waste of time, I guess I just felt that I needed to tell some people Friek. So there you go. Don't stop riding!

SemteX
My mate has started riding again after about 4months but everything is starting to come back to him. Just get out with some riders and keep practicing, also try doing a bigish move to get your confidence boosted up which will make you want to ride harder and all the big moves will come back in no time mate
Mr Motivator
Well, I have forgotten my limits, and things that I can do. Even forgetting what components I have on my bike, someone asked me what front brake I had and it took me about 5 mins to remember that I have a juicy

Even forgetting what components I have on my bike, someone asked me what front brake I had and it took me about 5 mins to remember that I have a juicy 7 trust me, thats a good thing if you don't know your limits then you dont know when to stop, if you don't know when to stop then you are more likely to try something big and pull it off. i havent rode properly all week. and i went out yesterday, did a 360 off a 6ft wall. and today i did my first rail gap. (rail gaps scare the shit outta me)
Dr. Nick Riviera
if you don't know your limits you'll go too far and hurt yourself. sam chillax its just the time off , give it a week you'll be fine
Ash-Kennard
sam, the important thing is that you are riding again.basically, just do it and dont think, you think too hard and you wont make it. for backwheeling just get gradually faster as you gain confidence.I hope to see you again in the near future. Endohopper
You clearly still retain the enthusiasm , that's the most important thing . Don't go pushing yourself too hard , as long as you're still having fun on the bike it should be a great summer .

Mark W
It's cool dude, don't worry about it. I've 'quit' a few times, and every time I've just gotten back on and been all "f**k noooooooo", but then you jsut get the feel of it again. I found after I relearned how much a pedal-stroke was (so I knew when to take off for ups, and how to kick for gaps and sidehops), I basically got it all back pretty quickly. It won't take you all summer to get back to your past level or anything, just try and get out as much as you want/can

poopipe
you'll be fine in a while. Just get some riding inI spent a fortnight on a bmx and when I got back on the trials bike felt I like I was riding a shopping trolley for about 2 days. It sorts itself out eventually though so just stick at it.
