Simon
But how the f**k do you get the rest off?As far as i can work out, the rest are pinned together. Now, i've tried sliding it off, as people have been saying should happen, then i've tried putting a screw driver behind the last cog and hitting that with a hammer, then i've stood on the wheel, put the pointy bit of a metal hammer behind the cassette and actually leaned back, still on there. So my lovely children, how the f**k do i get this b*****d off? Danny
Your trials gear will be nicely dug into your freehub body To get the whole lot off its gonna take some pastying in the other direction. 2 Chainwhips mite be in order.

haydon_peter
Simon gave up as he doesnt have a second chainwhip.I have just told him to stop being a girl and get his hands dirty using his chain as the second chainwhip Simon is currently trying to get the cog off again. How long will it take him? Will he end up taking the wheel to his lbs?
Simon
Ok, so i took my chain of my bike, wrapped it round one of the cogs that comes on and off freely, then wrapped the chain whip round the cassette, held the chain and was pulling on the whip for a good 5-10 seconds, and it wont move.Hands dirty? It looks like i've painted my hands black. Just been at this so long and i've just lost the will to do it.Will go and try doing each cog one by one in a second, incase the pins have gone holding it all together.Although, the chainwhip keeps flying off, which doesn't help.UPDATE: I got the cassette moved around 6-7mm freely, but after that, it just wouldn't move, so i'm guessing the body has a shard or something, and the cassette just wont fully come off. Will try and get Lee or Bren to help tomorrow as they've done this shit before and might be able to help me more.
Danny
What cassette is it? Chances are the pins holding it together are ) shape now. If you can get to the end of the pins grind em off carefully then remove the cogs 1 by 1.

planet x alan
can you take off the free hub and wrap a rag around it and put it in the vice?
Caleb
yoou done it yet?take the freehub off making sure not to loose pawls and springs etc . . put the base of the casette in vice or between two bricks or something and smack the freehub out from the casette.works a treat
Simon
Lacking vice.Lacking metal grinding/cutting disc.Lacking file.Think brendan has a vice, so might have to use it and go "medieval" on it, as brendan put it.
Caleb
you dont really need a vice just find 2 brricks or something that would bridge underneath it.the file idea wouldnt work anyway as the casette is till on, still a good idea if you want to use the hub again after the casette is off.id also reccomend putting the lockring back on tightish to start the thwacking so you dont fudge a bearing case.small screwdriver or something similar upside down and a big hammer, should only take a few knocks reallly
