Whatever it is, it was put there for a reason and making it look cool could lead to you dying when your feewheel explodes. And that'd put a real dent in your day. Mark W Posted April 21, 2006 Report Share Posted April 21, 2006 We had a Da-Bomb in our shop that had a bare freewheel on it, but I've seen them with silver bashrings too. I don't really get what you mean though by saying whatever this mystery item is is smaller than the freewheel? If it's black, are you sure you're not just looking at the side plate of your freewheel I had a look on htat B4T site to see if I could find the pic, but stopped when I read:The origins of trials trace their roots to the heady days of BMX in it's heydays! The BMX evolved with time but was soon just too small for the older riders who still wanted to do their thing! They took small mountain bike frames and modified them, stripping the front gears away and installing makeshift protectors for their chainrings,I wasn't actually aware it was possible to talk that much shit in one sentence?EDIT: I took it like a man, and assume you mean this pic: Anyways, that's a bashring. If you take the freewheel off, you should be able to either unscrew the bashring or just slide it off, depending on how weird Da-Bomb are.
