RR_Trials
After Much stick from onzaboymark on msn saying that me and my boss are silly for thinking that....Super Cycles will soon no longer be the main distributor for Onza.Super Cycles to become a Cyclelife Mike Poyzer's bike shop in Nottingham will become Raleigh's flagship Cyclelife store. The transition takes place in July. Poyzer's marketing and distribution business will remain on the premises. Raleigh is leasing the store from Poyzer."I decided to offer the shop premises to a company who can maximise its potential," said Poyzer. "After discussions we felt that the best option was for Raleigh to open its flagship store here, this not only fits well with the local IBD network but also enables Raleigh to grow their Cyclelife concept with a hands on approach." Poyzer has been in cycle retail for 30 years. More details in the April Bike Biz magazine. I have the April Bike Biz magazine in front of me and a quote from it is.....The Main distributer of Onza Trials bikes is now being handled by Moore LargeCheers Rorz
Ben Cox
does this mean cheaper onza's? or will everything stay pretty much the sameBen
RR_Trials
The price structure has been taken from super cycles but because moore large are a major bike trade distributor prices structure may change for the better.Rorz
Waynio
i think it will all stay the same price wise, i think mike poyzer and such forth still have a little bit of control over the products onza realease not 100% certain. but yes iv known this was happening for the last......... month or so. hes been in the buisiness 30 years. a long time. weve already had the moore large cycle rep round in aire valley about the bikes and the distribution and stuff. so it all seems to be changing hands quite well. (i think) i wonder what is going to happen to "onza" sponsored riders???? can anyone shed any light on this???? do onza totally stop sponsoring team riders??? or do they continue?Waynio.......................... RR_Trials
Onza will still want advertising + the riders aren't sponsored by SuperCycles, but buy onza
Simon
I'm confused. As i understood it, Supercycles was infact Onza. So if you phone/e-mailed Onza, you'd speak to someone at Supercycles. Now, if Raleigh or these Moore Large people have taken over Supercycles, whats happening to Onza?Or am i reading into this to much and it's basically just Supercycles, in essence changing its name? Waynio
the SHOP of supercycles is now a "Raleigh" shop has nothing to do with ONZA apart from mike poyzer OWNING the building.Moore Large in theory are now doing onza's job, import and distribution. think of it as a "Change of hands" in a way. but Mike still owns the name of onza, so in theory moore large will pay royalties or something daft (i think this is the score, but not 100% thats why it would be nice to know whats happening with onza team riders and stuff?)Waynio.................... boon racoon
i ordered a chain off supercycles onlinenever got it or anything! odd
anzo
I can't see how/why this would alter anything regarding the store. I couldn't imagine the prices of anything dropping, this will not alter prices from the Onza manufacture, nore will it alter import/distribution costs...so everything will stay normal I'd imagine.I predict that depending on the new owners, they might...just might (and I hope) stock more parts. Lets face it, the Supercycles shop for 'product range' is piss poor, so perhaps with a bit more money and fresh ideas going into the shop, it might be for the best? It'll be good to see what happens here. Waynio
i interpreted it differently for another reason.like it says in the bike biz thing, hes been in the trade for 30years maybe he wants to retire chill out and get away from Enlgand??? or just away for bikes, as hes been doing it for so long. maybe not though.im not 100% about what is or isnt happening but i think/guess that "Supercycles" will not be supercycles. it may be run by someone different. Not same staff etc etc. so literally a new company. who knows someone will shed some light on the job soon im sure Waynio...................... tipsy Jock
My take on it is that the shop is being rented to Raliegh and as a result distribution is changing hands, not one word suggests any changes to Onza or the other brands. Mark W
After Much stick from onzaboymark on msn saying that me and my boss are silly for thinking that.... You said to me "Much and larger are now Onza", and in that I couldn't find anyone called "Much and larger", which was a bit confusing and suggested to me you might've just been making it up...Also, having read it, it just says that Raleigh are leasing the shop itself, and that's about it? It still says "Poyzer's marketing and distribution business will remain on the premises", meaning Onza, Guess, etc.?Meh, we'll see I guess. F-Stop Junkie
Supercycles will still exist, as the owner of Guess, DDG, Onza, Tensile, etc... They won't sell direct to the public.Moore and Large will handle distribution of Onza and Tensile. If a shop wants them, they go through Moore & Large. If you want them, you have to find a shop which stocks them.Supercycles will still take care of product design, development and manufacture. This includes team sponsorship, and events like the Cycle Show. The actual shop is being rented out to Raleigh for them to turn into a flagship Raleigh store.Any questions?
