Post A Pic Of Today's Riding

Oh gosh. I forgot about that.

On a track bike the track stand is way easier than on a trials bike as you can pedal backwards to find the right spot.

Haha yeah, but the gear ratio is something daft like 50-15 and the wheels turn 8-10 times per crank revolution. You move your cranks a few cm and before you know it you're moving quite far. It's not that easy.

When I used to race I would just hold onto the side barrier until the whistle blew.

On a track bike you don't track stand unless you're 100% confident, you don't want to get it wrong. Olympic riders use SPD's and straps for more "holding" power to their feet, I'd be skeptical about track standing with just SPD's.

Get it right and it may give you a tiny tiny advantage. Get it wrong and you look like an idiot, you may hurt yourself, and if they've blown the start whistle already then they may not even restart the race for you.

Assuming this is an Aprils fools ha

Was it you who posted a vid and got a few comments about looking sketchy the other day? Apologies if mistaken identity, but if not then this speaks volumes, even though you're talking about track racing.

It was me.

You genuinely think because I'm sketchy on a trials bike I don't know how track standing works?

Nice.

That's not what I said, is it?

Just like the people in that thread, I'm saying that to have less sketchiness you have to have the basics dialled. Even trackstanding. I'm also well aware of the fact I am super sketchy these days, but I wasn't when I'd focused on the basics. Should've done it all over again after 4 years off really!
