PaShLeY
After riding the 26MHz for a few years, then being away from trials for a long time, i was wondering should i upgrade my frame, as i like my pashley, was wondering what differences the 26GHz besides obiously the size, and if any the improvements there are?i know the more recent trials frames have a very different feel to them, for example, my mates Onza T-rex felt really strange in comparison....joN
DAB
Eddy did the design of the 26mhz and it was a very street felling bike and he is a bmx'r that rode trials, and when the 26ghz was designed it was mat who did the work and he's more of a natral rider so the geom reflicts that. the prototype was like the leeson....The main change (apart from the geom) was no more week down tube...... PaShLeY
Cheers for that, but judging by the solo response, they aren't very popular then? surely more people own pashleys ??joNps i thought the 26mhz downtube was fairly stong? it goes into a point and is really stiff. people say the chainstays are weak but it takes my pounding and im 15 stone! Mark W
I think the main thing that counted against the 26Ghz was that there are cheaper, lighter, and stronger frames available, so it didn't draw in too many buyers unfortunately. Matt's 26Ghz at Bike'05 was haaaaawt though!
PaShLeY
The thing im on about though, is the feel of it. I mean the geometry of the 'new-school' bike line up if you like have longer wheelbases, even the short ones. i.e. theres a world of diference between my 26MHz and a mates T-rex,KOT? and Adamant. Mark W
There will be, yeah, but that's largely 'cos trials has progressed now. The bikes have become ever more specialised as riders have pushed the limits of riding, and the geometry and look of the frames out now reflect what the majority are doing. You can still get shorter stocks though, for example the Curtis frames and Leesons.

DAB
I no about 7 people with a mhz thats and they all have dented there down tube, but are still going... but on the ghz, i've ridden one, and main difference i found is that it's allot more evenly balanced (meaning it's allot easy'r to pick up off the front end) and feel allot more controlled.. almost like the leeson. (well clive did do the prototype)..
