Jez
Just noticed the other day that my front brake (when I put 'em on I put the rear cantis on the front because I wasn't really looking at what I was doing, never bothered to swap 'em around) was feeling a bit mushy compared to the back...checked it out and noticed something weird - the arms seem to be flexing near the top. It's almost unnoticeable, but it could be enough to make the brake feel a bit mushy (I'm one of those people who like to have really hard feeling brakes - I like to be able to feel - and hear - the pad hitting the rim even with the wheel stationary).I'm just wondering if I'm seeing things and it's actually just the bosses flexing that make it LOOK like the arms are flexing...has anyone else had this problem? The other (front) SD7 cantis I have don't seem to flex because they're a slightly different design (that looks stronger and stiffer).Cheers - Jez
ScotchDave
Yes vee brake arms flex, the only ones that don't are xt, xtr and ultimates.

Mine did until I got an Edd Potts special booster.
Jez
Yes vee brake arms flex, the only ones that don't are xt, xtr and ultimates....and SD7 fronts. Like I said, SD7 front cantis seem to be pretty stiff, it's just the rears that seem to flex.Ah well, next time I'll buy two sets of front cantis then. Ash-Kennard
would a booster help?
Jez
would a booster help?No it's the actual V-brake arms themselves that are flexing, not the canti bosses/forks (ok, well they are, but I'm more worried about the flex in the V arms).
