What Does Sex Mean Today?

personally, i am impressed with what the lads are saying on here, it has really changed my views, and some people are being truely honest which i respect greatly...

whilst at school everything was about sex and sexual acts, it was a race between the lads (and as we were at a private school, not many had had sex) but i was with a girl who i had know for 6 years, and could say after 3 years going out on and off, i was not in love, but falling in a big way....

but since the sexual acts we shared, i did my bragging with friends.. everyone does it.

but now i am at college, my whole view of the oppiste sex has greatly changed... i have far far more respect and even though i am still a horny b*****d, on numorus occasions i have turned down casual sex, friends call me stupid... but my true friends respects me for not, or atlesast i think so anyway...

since seeing him and his girlfriend, that has helped to change my views.... i no longer want what i once wanted (which was sex sex sex) of course being the red blooded male that i am i still long for it,

but i want something more meaningful than a quick shag, i would prefer to have a girl friend that i can take out to a meal or the cinema rahter than take home and rag...

someone to hold hands with as we walk though town, of course sex is a massiv bonus but if it's not ther but i have someone i can share presious time and love then clearly that is far more important...

i am still quite astounded myself that my friend and his girl friend can have such a dramatic change on my views and respect for the opposite sex, and for that i thank them (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE)

As a (very) recent joiner of "the club" I'm not sure wether to be embarassed about posting here :$ haha But I thought I'd put in my opinion.

I was 17 5 months ago and I've been with my girlfriend over 7 months now. I had many oppurtunities where I could have had sex before, as young as 14, but stayed in the "everything except sex" sorta thing. I'm *very* happy that I chose to wait until now as it meant alot to both of us and is obviously the most intimate thing you can do as a couple. This is the longest relationship I've been in and by far the most happy/stable/loving and all that other soppy shite I've ever had. I think if I had done it in any of my other previous relationships I would have considerable regret about it, but I'm pretty sure we've chosen the right time.

I think there's ALOT of pressure on people to lose their virginity as early as possible nowadays. Since year 9 there's always been stories flying around about other people having done it and so on and so forth. This starts off as a minority and generally stays that way through til year 11 and maybe even sixth form but it can seem as though everyone else has already done it and you're "behind".

Society's f**ked, but I'm very happy with my decisions no matter what everyone else seems to be doing and I think that's how everyone should be thinking, not following the crowd and thinking they have to do it to fit in which in turn pressures even more people.

I don't regret 90% of the shagging around I've done. In the 12-13 or so years since I first got my old chap properly wet ( that really does make me feel old ) I've indulged in a fair variety of (erm,) activities and frankly it's been great fun.

The only regrets I have come from having being dishonest about certain things on certain occasions.

I could rant on for hours about this but my general point is that you shouldn't regret any of it unless it hurts somebody's feelings or gives you nob-rot.

People take sex far too seriously - if you always remember to bag it up and don't go putting things in other peoples girlfriends/children/pets then wheres the harm? It's only an experience and experiences are always good things to have.

Just reading about people who said they lost their virginity at 14/15 and It does make me wonder how you managed it. I remember when I was 14/15 and girls were the last thing on my mind, never touched drink/drugs simply because I knew how to have a good time.

I have a pretty bitter approach to girls since my last girlfriend who f**ked me about no end, although she was my 'first' serious girlfriend and I wanted to keep it that way. I lost my virginity to her, which I'm happy about.

We've been on and off and I've had the chances to have sex with other people, but it just never really appealed to me, If I have sex I want it to be with someone who will still be there in the morning, and won't nick my wallet/phone. So a lot of the time I do refuse it.

If I'm out drinking and I meet someone new, I'll get talking, buy them drinks and thats pretty much it. I hate the 'wheyyy, f**k girls, get pissed' view that 'real lads' are supposed to have, so I do my best to avoid it. I'd much rather have a chat with a down to earth, sensible girl then take home some thick retard who just wants sex.

Anyway, I'm single again now. I do miss the sex, but I think its more of who it was with rather then what it was. As much as I pretend I don't need her or I don't care about her its pretty much just a front I have to put on to stop me freaking out.

Finding another girlfriend is more of a challenge...but if/when I do, It'll be a while before I have sex with her, simply because my ex has left me with a bit of a complex, meaning I can't get too close to people because I just assume they don't want to be with me and that they're going to leave me...which is going to cause a lot of problems in the future I can see it.

It is true. But its a pain in the arse finding girls because 1. No one lives here, 2. you have to go rrrrright the way into town to find any girl my age who isn't a retarded slut whore.

I'm not religious at all, but have lots of friends male and female that are very religious.

Yes some of them are 100% no sex before marriage, but the majority are pretty slack and while i wouldn't say that they nob around alot, they are alot more liberal about sex than i imagined and most have had more partners than me.

So i wouldn't say religion plays that big a part from what i've seen.
