domonza
Right i have a problem with my tensile cranks. I have a normal tensile bashguard thats the thick black one, i screwed it onto my cranks and everything was fine then i screwed my onza fixed front cog on and it went on properly and there was no shit on it and everything was good. Then i went out for a ride did some small gaps then i tried to static hop a wall and put a lot of pressure on and the cog stripped all of the threads of the end of my cranks. Has anybody had this problem, also if you have tensile cranks and bashguard what cog do you run.I also noticed after i had finshed screwing the cog on that it didnt screw on that much because of the bashguard taking up most of the room.I have sorted it now by taking the bashguard of and screwing the cog right the way on, but i dont like the fact of not having a bashgurad as i keep hitting my cog.can anybody help me. cheersDOM
downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
I think theres a special pair of cranks which allows you to have the bash that you have + a cog.I think you might have the ones which i have, which only allows you to have a cog or a freewheel on there, or you could have a UCI bash (the small thin silver one? ) and ride UCI i do, its real fun and ALOT more challenging Go UCI, you cant have a black bash and cog on now
Greetings
Well the only thing I can recommend is, if you are running a narrow chain, to throw the bashring on a lathe and grind it down near the thread so that the chaingring can be screwed in deeper. However I wouldn't recommend running a bashring at all because you've already stripped a bit of the thread. Doing so will almost certainly result in stripping the remainders of the thread in the crank. That would just be a waste. Maybe getting a very strong chainring and chain would allow you to happily use your bike without a rockring?
loffa
The big thick black bashguard is ment to be ran with a 22t chainring, that is bolted to the bashring, not a screw-on cog.If you want to run a screw on cog, then you have to get a 18t(or 16t) UCI bashguard.
