Mr_Pitbull
175mm Cranks if your Mod frame is farely long. Makes it flick up alot easier.

That gives u a gear ratio of 1.3 which is quite low. Most people have a gear ratio of 1.5, which is usually 18 up front and 12 on the rear. An 18 tooth freewheel on the cranks and a 12t cog on the rear.any specific freewheel????cheers dan!Maby get a 18t freewheel and screw it on your cranks and get a 12t cog for the rear? The whole setup wont cost you anything over £30 inc all the postage costs. What cranks have you got?175mm Cranks if your Mod frame is farely long. Makes it flick up alot easier. That's just silly. planet x alan
surely this sorta thing depends on the riders preference? and 175mm crank arms on a mod is crazy
M3LLON_t-mag
best gearing for a mod has to be an 18tooth reliable freewheel on the front eg.white industries and a 12tooth screw on sprocket on the back with short crank arms as it gives you more power and your legs dont have to travel as far when kick for a big hopcheersmellon
Technical Tom
At the moment i run 22:16 which is perfect, but now that i'm getting super pro trials cranks it's going to be 16:12 i think i will need now. Also it's defiantly rider preference, some people pefere harder gearing than others. Tom. Edited April 15, 2006 by onza_tom123
