PaShLeY
Ok, so i have been out of the scene for 3years but when i left it, carbon was a funny area, i would have cringed at the thought of carbon bars before, (front hops etc, SNAP!) but they seem to be really popular??Onza etc.is there flex or?? i have never really fancied carbon since steve peat refused to have a carbon GT lobo DH.although, saying that have snapped some Azonic double walls, oh and a Zaskar LE.Whats the feeling on Carbon Handlebars?joN
JT!
First of all they arn't just carbon, they're carbon wrapped. So maby only a third carbon.I like mine, but i haven't realy tried any 'high performance' bars so i can't really comment on them. Edited April 12, 2006 by JT! trial-biker-ryan
carbon bars..... yea, i thought they would be quiet doggy to. them snapping and you crashing to the ground and knocking teeth out, so i see your point. so i thought long and hard about weather i will by carbon bars when i get my new bike - in a week or so - and i thought well yea there light and seem really good but then the snapping though came to ming and i was like well they woul'nt be for sale if the snapped - i meen pros must use carbon bars and they seem to be ok so i say yes! to carbon bars!! light weight, good looking and a decent affordable price. Shaun H
hyaa boisss its josh eya got sum new pads n sum mint rims cya l8r biker dudes luv u all :$Knob.Carbon bars like Onzas/Pazzaz will be fine. Just don't buy anything like FSA K-Forces, those *will* kill you if used for trials Easton CNT DHs could be ok I suppose, but they're double the price of Onzas and use standard clamps. I know which I'd choose.
DAB
My riding buddy uses the 30" onza carbon bars on his czar, and there very stiff comfy.. Don't use xc bars as they can't take being pulled on and snap Ps: you should change your bars every two years to be safe no matter what you ride
Wright Pads
Nope it's 6 months is what the ACT advise, also you should file the stem on the edges to get shot of the burs.

Krisboats
Hodnobs Thats exaclt what they are. An aluminum exo skeliton and shape with a carbon build up in all aeras of shape and stress I'm afraid thats completely wrong... and you've spelt skeleton wrong as well. (Also exactly, and aluminium and areas. Use the spell checker) An Exoskeleton (yes it is all one word) " in contrast to an endoskeleton, is an external anatomical feature that supports and protects an animal's body. All arthropods (such as insects, spiders and crustaceans) and many other invertebrate animals (such as shelled mollusks) have exoskeletons. Lobsters, for example, have tough outer shell systems which provide rigidity and shape to their bodies." Taken from here link. What they really are is an aluminium inner section with a carbon fibre exoskeleton, Loads of people run them as well dude so you should be absolutely fine, carbon bars should easily last you a year and should be replaced between 1 and a half years and 2 years of use... or should you manage to put an averagely deep scratch into them they will also need replacing as carbon is significantly weakened once scratched.
