Robwalker
Hi, I'm going to be 16 at the end of this month and i would really like to get a part time job, as i am still at school although i am still not sure what to do yet, so i was wondering if anyone is 16 and working part time would you mind putting what you work as, if you like it and a rough amount of you get paid? Many thanks in advance Rob
RandomHero
i'm currently 16 and looking for a part time job.You just gotta get out there and look yourself, you cant exactly have whatever job you fancy when you're sixteen. Take any job you see, especially as most companies aren't recruiting people at this time of the year. The best time is around Christmas.go and look in retail parks and supermarkets you might find something there. If you're really desperate try McDonalds. robnewland
I work doing the cleaning in my local butchers. It may not be a pleasant job, but I get good pay ( £5 an hour ) and my boss is a nice guy. If you have a local butcher, try asking them, they may have a vacancy. It was this job that allowed me to buy my onza so I would say just go out and get asking people.Only if you are REALLY desperate try mcdonalds.... OD404
The big supermarket chains (Tesco, Sainsburys etc) are always a good bet for work, nearly everyone at my school worked for one of them when they turned 16, including myself. Pay was pretty good, I think I started on minimum wage at first, but you get regular pay increases every six months or so, so it ramps up quickly. The work itself got a little tedious but then it wasn't exactly a career move so I put up with it (you can only stack shelves for so long before you get bored), and there were some cool people around too which helped. For the larger places, I would suggest that now is a good time to start looking, as many people will be off to uni after the summer, so get out and let them know you are interested. Most of the time they will just give you an application form, but once its handed in they have you on file and will call when they have a job available (was about 4 months after I handed my application form into Tesco that they rang me to ask for an interview).Good Luck

Jaffacakes
Is it only me that finds it easy to get a job? you should be able to get a job as a KP in pretty much any pub or restuarant. I think i'll be a beach cleaner or maby work in a cafe this summer Take any job you see, especially as most companies aren't recruiting people at this time of the year. The best time is around Christmas. It's completely the opposite here. All of those damn holiday makers are coming down who make it imposible to ride street. The population increases by about 10,000 people in just one week so there is LOTS of jobs about.
