Gandalf the Yellow
i need a new rear wheel, so the question is this....pro II or bulb?...which has more engagements?...and i need a new rim, i've got a viz at the moment, but its a little to wide for my giant, i love EX721's but they're just a little too narrow for my liking to be honest...so looking at anything between 32mm to 40mm in width.... i need it ideally sub-750g really...don't fancy too much weight! - as expected i need it to built a uber strong wheeel.... ( been looking at DMR DV's and Tioga DH < (can i grind them surfaces to make them maggy friendly?))any other recommendations would be helpful!!cheerssteve

rich4130
Tioga Steve, I've had one a few months, and its beast, I even built it and its still good, 600g, get one.Grind the lip off carefully and theres just as much room for pads as any other rim, would look pimp on your giant, esp if you still have that tioga stripey seat. Tony Harrison
Get the Pro 2 T... make sure it's the trials one. It's better for trials than the bulb. Personally I preferred the Tioga rim (~37mm), although the DX32 (~38mm) is probably just as good.
Robwalker
Hope pro 2 Trials, and DX32 rim, nice strong rims and a beauty of a hub. Although i do run a bulb and its now six years old and has only started to skip! although i've only ridden it for about half a year, but any day i would choose the Hope pro 2 Trials just over what i've heard about it. Hope this helps Rob
flipkickbs
Ohhh, i'm feeling good now loads of people have suggested that setup. I have a pro 2 on a Dx32 and it is awesome! feels really solid, and the rim is very resilient to dents and flatspots Ian
