Dan6061
I don't get much trouble from them here... I was riding home after a ride in a town near me (5 miles!) And just coming out of a village, a Police car pulls up next to me... Cops: I think you should brighten yourself up a bit, dark green hoody, dark green bag... Me: Ahh yeah, well I didn't think it'll be this dark..and I couldn't get a lift. Cops: Well it's more later on when you should be worrying. Just brighten yourself up a bit. Then they went. They were pretty cool. Could have moaned at me for: No lights, No bell, No reflectors, wasn't wearing my helmet (at the time), 20" wheeled bike on the road (don't think that's allowed?) etc. But they didn't. S'all good. There are some others in town (well..community cops) that took my information down, for riding on a wall. Wasn't doing it any harm, wasn't near a road. Bastards. Just doing their job I guess. Josephine
Police are there to protect you, the public. If you recognise this and don't be a dick I very much doubt you'll have any trouble. Don't get me wrong, it's not impossible, there are some idiots on power trips in the force, but so long as you're sensible and don't cause too much fuss you'll be fine. Also, don't get too annoyed that your name's been taken, nothing will come of it.Joe

Deonn h
Yeh loads every day.I`ve had endless police note things. They always say we will takeyour bike off you next time. Most of them are complete wankers some of them are just pointlessand say:"I`m not really bothered that your on here fellas but i`m giving you a police warning becausei`m on camera and i`l get sacked if i don`t so there u go" and waste about half an hour giving them.It just takes the piss really so we just ride off if they start walking up to you and go to another spot. Then just go back later ride for 10 mins and do 1 from the cops again then go to another spot and get chased by jippos or chavs. Then go to the police station to tell them and they don`t do fuc all they just say stay away.aa hhhh and breath! lol
manxrider
Here's a new one, we got thrown off the main practice place for motor trials on the Island. The land owners don't care but the government just don't like us riding there. So now for riding a trials bike you can get an ASBO. Because of the excess noise yeh thanks f**kers. PaRtZ
Had a yellow card ages ago for killing soil (honestly was middle of winter...no plants there)As said above, its just the way you talk to them really. We were once riding in this garden and there were a few old dears there. And a coppe came up to us and said "We've had a few complaints from the old dears. Im sure you're not upsetting them but they were just moaning about the noise, so if you could keep it down a bit and make sre I don't have to come back Ill be happy" <--Smilewas like "Err ok "Heres another one my mate told me: A bicycle is only considered a bicycle if it has wheels larger than 20"....a mod has a 19" ?? that NBR dude
Cant say Ive ever had a problem round here. Round our village, all we get is "community suppoort officers" who cant do anything anyway. They just drive a cop car and pretend to be cops. What gets me is the government saying they are trying to stop crime, not make money, yet one copper we know, everything he says has the word "fine" in it! Going around giving fines to people riding on the pavement isnt stopping crime is it? Edited April 9, 2006 by Andy@NBR
N.Wood
If you treat them like dicks, they'll do the same.I've had my name taken down countless times in City, nothings come of it.In Bromley they say they're impressed or 'you can't get over that can you?' etc, unless we ride in stupid places. They're doing their job, let them get on with it. Euro Braker
I was stopped for and ticketed for "playing in a nusance area." Waste of time really because I wasnt doing any harm, I was just balancing on my bike before drop gapping off a bench( biggest thing down my way), and the pig didnt even realise I had a bike. Jaffacakes
I get moved on constantly but have only had my name taken down once for riding.we were riding in one of our spots when a police woman came over and.... Actually I cant really remember too well what happened even though it was only like a month ago .In short, she came over and had a look around to see if there was any damage, (the place is pretty smashed up from riding) She said there was no damage then took our names and addresses down. I had just moved house so didn't know it and of corse she thought I was taking the piss. She blatantly liked the look of my mate so all was ok. She was only early twentys and was pretty hot really...If you talk to them like there actually people and they will be fine to you. As someone has already said it's all down to the way you speak to them. Just don't get all lairy when they ask you stupid questions . chrishayton
I ve only had my name took down once and that was my own fault really. we were all riding in centre of manc and two plain clothed policemen came over(aggressively, which was out of order imo) and started having a right go. i was sat on my bike(levelboss at the time) and the officer shouts at me to stop riding my bike i then state to him my feet were on the floor and i wasnt moving, which he wasnt impressed with. then he had ago at my mate then looked at me and told me to stop sitting on my bike, to which i replyed calmly, sorry but i dont have a seat to sit on. the policemen looked confused so i showed him my bike and then he had ago at me for not having a seat and took ma name down lol. ah well nothing ever came of it. and besides its there jobs, people shouldnt get annoyed for getting in trouble for riding trials, it is illegal to do most street riding
Lawnmowerman
Got pushed up against a wall in liverpool street station and threatened with a beating for going up some stairs on my skates. Also went on a biiiiiig street skate with team salomon and had a riot van full off coppers run after us, was funny
ibs_m
I love this stuff - makes me chuckle - i get it off dad all the time because hes a magistrate - says everything is criminal damage and that im going to end up in a jail cell lol - Its madness - one minute they complain about our nation being obese and not doing enough exercise and then when we do get off our arses and do something imaginative and cost free (bar the grands worth of bike ) we get busted and moved on at every spot.Even had a meeting for what facilities the youth want in our area, and then got told we were narrow minded because we just wanted a skate park lolMadness...I love it. jamesb
A security worker at a university was called on us three times 2 days ago. The first time she sat and watched for a while, then said that she feels bad having to tell us to leave the area, she could see we were only having a little fun and we weren't damaging anything The second time she was called on us, she stopped by a donut shop and bought some for us! She was so nice! But again, she had to tell us to move to another spot.It really depends on who you are dealing with. Some are out to get you, but others are like that one I met 2 days ago. Be nice to them either way.I have never had my name taken down. Edited April 10, 2006 by jamesb
