bikerboy16
what is better a front freewheel or have a good back hub and which is going to last long?
CBProductions
They are both just as good , only trouble is, if you don't look after both of them they wont last. Freewheels usually make for a lighter setup. Also try and use the search as well dude Edited April 6, 2006 by CBProductions
JT!
Rear hub is generally better, becuase they get less force but thought them. But are of corse more expensive.
Joe_Da_Man
You ask him or do you not remember? rickybwhat is better a front freewheel or have a good back hub and which is going to last long?HelloI would go for the second option, Having a good rear hub like a profile. Profiles would be recommended by most mod trials riders, Because of there quality, ability and/also the looks of them. There is only one disadvantage with a profile is the cost, They cost around £160 for the standard colours but for the different colours one's like lime green or purple for example will set you back around £170.Which a Freewheel can cost you around £20-£30.Hope this information helps you choose! Balman
Well typically bikes run a rear freewheel / engagment systembut as far as i understand front freewheels are more trials specific. Me myself run a rear Hope hub just because that was what was availiable for me at the time but looking back on it, it is a lot more cost effective to maybe weld up my rear hub of my hope or standard shitty thing and look at running a front freewheel.i looked at maybe running a Eno originally but tensile have been roumored to be bringing out a tensile freewheel in a mid range price bracket of £40 with 72 engagments APPARENTLY but thats always
Oxyfin
hi..In my opinion a rear freewhell setup is the better option. single speed usually saves weight and is a hassle free alternative. I currently run a 521 on revolver hub, my freewheel is only and asc claw, but i could easily upgade to an eno hub with the same pickup system/number as a chris king. The advantage to doing this that it will save you a whole load of money as kings are far more costly than white industries, (or even the new tensile freewheel soon to come out..)The downside to freewheel setup is that gears can be usefull, ive found as you progress a larger range of gears can be helpful, as your style changes and you learn different moves.let me know more about what you think on this.CheersMart
M3LLON_t-mag
all depends on money and preference in my opinion,i run a White Industries ENO on my t-mag and i find it amazing i cant comment about cassette hubs because i don't have one but £80 for the ENO is a lotbetter than £180 for a profile or £300 for a KING although they are good hubs it all depends on your budgethope i have helpedmellon
